A katana would be less reliable than a shotgun, in a zombie attack because of these reasons:
A katana limits you to only melee combat, and relies on the skill of the wielder a great deal. While a shotgun can work as kind of a melee weapon, it also has several different kinds of ammunition available and they are pretty common to find. Also, melee weapons are much easier to find then reliable, strong, multi-use ranged weapons. Lastly, the learning curve for a shotgun is far less steep than that of a katana; especially if you must learn on the fly.

And yea, laser-disc is classic. I still got a small library of those things and a trusty dvd/laser-disc player in my house hehe.

Heavenscent: you should just do less work and join us next time.

Hmm . . I don't know if I completely agree with you guys here, but I'll tell you what; in any situation (that I can conjure) that a shotgun would be a useful, a katakana would work just as well without the potential of becoming a deadly burden. Then again, it depends on how you approach a horde of zombies. Trust me, I think about this at least two hours a week.

As for the game debate, I ain't touching that! But, I will say as someone who doesn't own a PS3 or 360, the focus has to be on the games, and maybe to even a greater extent, the online capabilities (where I believe the *next gen* should/will improve upon in a phenomenal way). As well as both systems are selling, there are still people like myself that are waiting to see what both really have to offer. Not being a videophile, it has to be more than bloom and Blu-ray, know what I'm sayin', baby!
Oh, and the VHS jump to DVD was a HUGE format leap. Remember Laser Disc? We saw what was coming around the corner. For those who waited you didn't have to switch through 6 huge laser discs of A-vs.-P and got a compact one, 'ala DVD. Even then, it took a while for DVD to completely phase out VHS entirely. With B-R, I dunno, man. I feel it's more like a stepping-stone rather than a 'here and gonna stay' thing. My film critic friend tells me there's gonna movie hard drives where you d/l movies into... legally! That's awesome if ever comes around, and knowing how fast technology moves, it could be sooner than we expect.

Damn. I feel kinda left out of this heated podcast, heh. Good stuff all around.
<br>
Curse you, unannounced projects, for taking me away from precious fun time!
