We just noticed Siliconera posted a playtest of an otome game called Beast Master and Prince Portable. With Hakuoki coming out early 2012(!) it’s a good read to learn about the “mechanics” of an otome game.

Be on the lookout for our next Man of the Month for Hakuoki on October 14th!

I saw that screenshot and I thought you were localizing it. XD Beast Master and Beyond the Future: Fix the Time Arrows are two I really would love. Especially Beyond the Future: Fix the Time Arrows, RPG elements + otome + FAIRY GUY! http://5pb.jp/games/btf/ <-official website for it.

Nope! Not localizing it. Just excited there’s some interest in the otome genre :)

Thanks for the heads up about Beyond the Future: Fix the Time Arrows. I’ll check it out! The men are fairies? They look like elves!

There’s a heck of a lot of excitement for otome games! You should see the chatter in a lot of the siliconera posts of them. XD

Defiantly check it out! I tend to ‘idolize’ games but I adore RPGs and games theme based on them and this looks like it would target a broader audience. Hey! Record of Agarest Wars targets guys so where is our ‘Agarest’ for girls? =P

And not all the men are fairies. ^^; Their basically RPG classes; archer, thief, paladin, swordman, mage and elf/fairy race.

I simply can’t wait for Hakuoki! I need more otome games and visual novels in my life. My limited Japanese is no where near good enough for understanding imports, sadly.I’m totally buying two copies of Hakuoki as well. xD Thank you Aksys for releasing more in this genre and please continue to due so!

Beyond the Future and Beast Master also look fantastic.

The PSP is chock full of all sorts of otomes. Honestly, if you just scroll through Otomate’s website you’ll find that most of the games are on PSP.
