Amazon’s exclusive pre-order bonus has sold out! We’d like to thank everyone and congratulate those who were lucky enough to snag a bracelet!
Looks like Zero’s got a bunch of new bracelets to control!
Amazon is still accepting pre-orders for Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward without the bonus here.

Any chance the bracelets will be available again?? I was a tad too late and missed out. Such a bummer. :/

Oh wow! I managed to get the 3DS pre order bonus version, it is crazy how fast it sold out!
9.18.12 at 2:33 pm
Any chance you’ll do this Bracelet bonus at Gamestop like before with 999?
9.18.12 at 4:28 pm
Hi, just a question since I’m unsure and I’m surprised how fast the watches are out!
I placed an order for Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward (3DS) with Amazon near the end of March. At that time, there was no indication that there was a preorder bonus. Will I get the preorder bonus even if the preorder bonus is sold out and I had placed my order before yesterday’s announcement?
Thanks!
9.18.12 at 6:05 pm
Well, looks like I’m buying this game used then.
9.18.12 at 6:58 pm
@Amiti – To quote from Amazon’s Zero Escape page: “This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.”
So yes, you’ll still get it.
9.18.12 at 7:25 pm
I was trying desperatly to get the correct version pre-ordered for the bonus, but an amazon employee has since informed me that the pre-order bonus was only for the Vita version. I had assumed that since the picture had both versions in it, both would qualify for the bonus. Was I wrong? Also, when I pre-ordered I only saw one version available, was there another ‘pre-order bonus’ version and a ‘standard’ version?? Any chance at all gamestop will get the watch? Or that it will be available elsewhere??
9.18.12 at 7:51 pm
@tsu – That employee didn’t know what they were talking about. The pre-order bonus is applied to the 3DS version as well, which was confirmed by an actual dev.
9.18.12 at 8:02 pm
Do you think the pre-order bonus will get a second printing? I was at work all day and totally missed out on ordering it. :(
9.19.12 at 8:14 am
@c29o – Please don’t buy used! We want the next (possible) game to come over and Aksys doesn’t get the sale if you buy used. They won’t see the demand and think the audience isn’t big enough to warrant bringing it to the US. Go to NewEgg and buy it with the $10 off pre-order deal! Support Aksys bringing more cool games like this!
I can’t wait for this to come out next month!
9.19.12 at 8:51 am
@Amiti:
If you pre-ordered months ago, you’ll be getting a watch.
@tsu:
If they were placed before stock ran out (which happened some time yesterday) then orders for both systems qualify for the bonus.
9.19.12 at 9:40 am
Amazon never even sent me an email though I asked them to since I first noticed it before it was available. By the time I got home from work it was gone. Guess I’ll go get gouged on eBay.
9.19.12 at 12:36 pm
Man, I was so excited to pre-order this but now that the watches are sold out, I’m so bummed out that I hardly care anymore. I’ll get the game eventually but I don’t know if I’ll bother pre-ordering.
It would be nice if Aksys got some more watches to sell. I don’t know if you guys/Chunsoft/whoever have set some sort of limit on how many watches can be made, regardless of demand, but you definitely won’t be making any money when all these pre-order ones end up on ebay. I don’t intend to spend $100+ just to get the bonus.
9.19.12 at 1:36 pm
Thanks everyone who answered me!
two more questions though , since nobody at Amazon is helpful in the least (/rage): Did it ask you to choose a color for the watch and does it show up anywhere on the order? If I’m not getting the watch, I’m certainly not getting my game from Amazon! ( I wish the watch was available directly from Aksys’s store. I WANT TO THROW MY MONEY AT YOU GUYS ;.; )
9.19.12 at 1:55 pm
@tsu No you do not get to choose the color(I didn’t see any selection screen or anything)
9.19.12 at 2:10 pm
Awesome, thanks for the information guys!
9.19.12 at 2:17 pm
@tsu:
The colors are random, there’s no way to choose which one you’ll get. If you placed your pre-order before yesterday, then you’ll be getting a watch. If you’d like to double-check, send the e-mail address you use with Amazon and your order number to support (at) aksysgames (dot) com, and we can check with Amazon to make sure you’re in line to get a watch.
9.19.12 at 5:30 pm
wow, I kind of have to agree with c29o.
I was super excited for the game, 999 was one of my favorite games ever. I pre-ordered it at Gamestop like forever ago. Now I’m so heart broken that I missed out on the pre-order. and so angry that there was no indication of the bonus or that Amazon was the company to order it from that it has kind of crushed all interest I have in the game. I don’t know if I will feel this way after the rage and sorrow subsides but I feel hurt that there was no real warning that this might happen, and even though I pre-ordered it, because I chose to go to a real store and talk to real people I am being denied the bonus.
9.20.12 at 5:54 pm
@Hearts Alchemy
I feel the same way. I pre ordered mine from Gamestop months ago, thinking that I would get a watch since Gamestop also had the pre order bonus for 999. I haven’t heard about the announcement on September 17th because I’ve been busy with work. Now, I read the announcement only to find out they have been sold out in a day. This will be two watches I won’t be getting. You have no idea how badly I want to punch my monitor.
9.20.12 at 11:04 pm
Gah, I skip checking the website for a couple of days, and look what happens. I feel like the last kid picked in gym class. I suppose if I wanted to compete for impossible pre-order bonuses, I would’ve moved to Japan.
Can’t buy the game now- it would only remind me of the lingering taste of disappointment.
9.21.12 at 12:14 am
I have also come to say how disappointed I am that this promotion will not be extended to Gamestop pre-orders. I’d been tracking this game since its announcement in Japan, and was super excited when you’d officially licensed it. So I ran off to my local Gamestop immediately to pre-order it.
Unfortunately for myself, I bought the original 999 just after it came out, and missed out on A) the pre-order watch, and B) the short amount of time you had it listed in your store.
Even if you were to offer a “limited edition” pre-order of the game at Gamestop that came with the watch for $5-10 more, I’d happily go off and upgrade my pre-order, but instead I’m “stuck” with just the game.
Surely all of you can see how disappointing that is. I’ll still buy my copy of the game, but I have to agree with the others who are posting here. Now that I’ve found out that, in theory, my pre-order is worth less than the ones made on Amazon a day or two ago, my feathers are a bit ruffled. Will it lessen my enjoyment of the game? Not necessarily so, no, but there will be that little amount of bitterness that’ll sit in my gut, knowing that I had made the wrong choice in ordering at physical location instead of Amazon.
9.21.12 at 11:26 am
@HeartsAlchemy Well Aksys did have an official press release on this site, and it was on a bunch of sites before this…
Even though I do understand the frustration that the original watch was at gamestop and now it is not, it’s not like they confirmed that the watch would be a gamestop exclusive again.
9.21.12 at 9:11 pm
@ Rogue Ninja
I know the effect of buying games used. It is my decision as a consumer to decide where my money goes. That being said, thank you for telling me about the Newegg deal, I was expecting to buy for $30 anyway so I might have to check that out
@Redhood
Aksys had a press release about the preorder bonus like, the time that Amazon was releasing the pre-order bonus (at least for the 3DS) and it was available for like an hour. And there wasn’t “huge” press for this game as I found out it’s release date the day of the 3DS pre-order bonus (after it was gone); I knew this game was coming out but heard nothing about it since the beginning of the year, saw in Game Informer the release date and looked it up.
9.22.12 at 10:38 am
I heard that you guys will be selling the watches on the aksys store like you did for 999, is this true?
9.23.12 at 12:43 pm
@ disgruntled: God I am lucky I am super weak because I did punch the nearest thing to me when I found out… which was my window. It is extremely frustrating. I also don’t like Amazon much because they actively try to take business from real stores, and it is particularly hard for local small businesses to compete with them, but about 90% of my income relies on small local businesses in my area. So it is frustrating that I missed the watch again, and because I lost it because I didn’t support a company that is basically trying to destroy my source of income.
@xeluu: I totally agree, I would upgrade my GameStop order in a heartbeat. I mean considering that now if I want this watch I will probably have to pay over $100 on ebay I would consider it totally worth it to pay extra on my pre-order to get it.
I also agree, now I kind of see my pre-order with GameStop as being worth a lot less… I mean basically everyone at Amazon who got the watch now has something that is so valuable it is like they got the game for free. And I have to pay for it. It leaves me feeling really bitter. Not as angry as I was at first, but bitter.
@redhood56: Yes, I saw that after the fact. I mean the earliest one I saw was published on the 15th which still isn’t a lot of time before it sold out. I don’t fallow many series so normally I am on top of what is going on with those series. But this took place so quickly that it totally slipped under my radar. I’m a little angry too because I remember looking at the news letter for September from Aksys and I didn’t see anything about this. Why do I get the news letter if it doesn’t actually give me a heads up about what the company is going to do? I will still buy this game. But I am going to remember that Aksys isn’t a company I can trust. I will have to be cautious of what games I get into from them and carefully watch other sites to find out what Aksys is doing since apparently they will be one of the last to announce to their fans what they are doing. I can’t trust them to communicate. I will remember that, and I will make sure to warn anyone I recommend a Aksys game to in the future.
Also my choice to pre-order with GameStop had nothing to do with the pre-order watch being there last time (honestly I didn’t know that it was exclusive to GameStop because I missed it last time) I wanted to go somewhere real and talk to people. I think I am particularly bitter because I remember when I pre-ordered how I talked about how much I loved 999 and how I recommended it to the people working there. I think it makes me feel a little extra bitter that I was talking so warmly about the company and then they did this. Although I know it wasn’t anything personal it feels like they spat in my face for being a fan. I know they didn’t do anything personal, but feelings don’t work on a logical level.
Also I don’t think that Aksys has responded to anyone asking that question as I have been watching out for it. I honestly hope they do.
@c29o: I think you missed the Newegg thing. And I considered buying the game used too because I felt like not giving Aksys my money. I’m still mildly tempted to do it because I am not at all happy with them right now. And yeah I wouldn’t say it was “huge” press about the game and the bonus. There was some press… But like I fallow a few game news sites and it wasn’t on them, so…yeah…
9.23.12 at 8:10 pm
This is ridiculous.
I waited a long time to preorder this game because I was waiting for an announcement of some sort in regards to a pre-order bonus, hoping for something awesome on the level of the watches for 999.
Eventually, it seemed as if enough time had passed that clearly Aksys weren’t going to include a bonus, so I swung by my local Gamestop and preordered the game.
BOTH versions. Vita and 3DS.
That’s $80 I’m spending, all because I wanted to support the game and Aksys as much as possible.
Not only that, but I was the first one on the message board that I regularly visit to start talking about 999 before it came out, and ultimately convinced quite a good amount of people to buy it. And, as soon as I visited Aksys’s page today and saw that I new print of 999 is going to be printed with a different cover, my first thought was a mental note to buy the new printing as soon as possible.
I’ve spread the word on these games as much as I possibly can, along with pooring my money into them to provide as much support as I can muster up.
I’m a loyal fan. A VERY loyal fan.
But then I scroll down and see that apparently a preorder bonus DID become available for Virtue’s Last Reward. But oh, look at that: it was Amazon-exclusive. And it sold out within a single DAY.
Too bad, loyal fan who unfortunately decided to support the game through a different vendor. You’re out of luck.
This is ridiculous.
But Aksys has always struck me as the kind of company that actually listens to its fans, so I thought it might prove worthwhile to express my dismay on the subject. In fact, I signed up to get the capability to leave comments SOLELY for that reason.
I know it’s just an extra goodie, an incentive to get more people to preorder. The real treat is the game itself, obviously.
But as the obvious diehard fan that I am, I feel absolutely like I’ve been cheated. I’m not the “resell on ebay” type. I love getting these incentives because they feel valuable to me, personally, as a fan. Gypping me out of something like this just because I missed a tiny window of opportunity on a single, specific website feels like a major slap in the face.
I still plan on picking up my two copies of the game when it’s released (I won’t be cancelling or anything like that), and I still plan on getting that new printing of 999.
You haven’t lost me completely yet.
But I would still make the suggestion that you at least offer these Zero Escape watches to a slightly wider audience, either by selling them individually on your site or by extending the bonus to other vendors.

@micahely:
I feel for you. But at least you actually had the chance. I was expecting Rising Star Games (cos I am not from NA) to do the same (and wasn’t expecting it to be an Amazon exclusive :\) though I have myself to blame partially (Thanks Nintendo for your region-locking). And after persistent bugging of RSG only did us non-US region fans found out recently that RSG are “unable” to do such a promotion. Heck those in Aus can’t even pre-order yet from local stores cos they have NOTHING about this game in their database. Epic fail no? TT^TT
9.23.12 at 11:57 pm
Oh porkiewpyne, I feel for you. I am so mad that Nintendo region locked. There were games that were released for different regions that I would import for my DS. No more. >:(
But I know you have it worse because Australia doesn’t get everything. And even when they do it is usually released later. I don’t understand why game companies do this particularly when they have already translated it to english. I mean I know a few words would have to be changed from the American English (like color) but it shouldn’t take that long/be impossible.
@Micahely: You are a very loyal fan. I am impressed.
I think the fact that I am not a “sell it on ebay” type person ether is another part of why I am annoyed. I would wear that watch if I had it. I hope that Aksys does listen to the fans who are asking them to sell the watch on there store.
