More details and a price would be greatly appreciated. Also as has been mentioned to Bleisarius, offering the CE swag on the Aksys store for PS3 owners is a good idea, if it can be at a reasonable price.
Thanks a lot for the heads up, cool, i was expecting some download content but not free :D, it wont be that bad to not having a phisical copy, (also i dont have to worry about what my dad would think of me if he sees me with a mousepad like that, lol) Cool, if is possible, i would also like to know how much will the game cost? i want to know how much to keep in my psn, since i dont live in the US and i have some saved in there from the last time i got a PSN card, but u havent been able to use anything because i have no idea what to expect on agarest war’s price
Sticky situation for PS3 owners and Aksys. We need to convince Sony that these games deserve full disc releases in the future by making sure that they do big numbers, right? But at the same time the format of this release has ensured that I can’t buy it. 10GB of a 60GB PS3 is more than I can dedicate and I’m not in the market to upgrade the hard drive right now. Still, thank you guys for putting the effort out there to ensure that both versions made it stateside. I want to support you guys on PS3 as much as I can to try to prevent situations like this in the future but I gotta go with the 360 release. Nothing to do with the collector’s content! It’s… a little much for my taste.
I know it’s probably like pissing in the wind but is there a particular part of SCEA we can contact to voice our displeasure over situations like this? I know they’re not likely to change their ways anytime soon no matter what their players want but it’d be nice to direct some of the griping toward the people who are actually responsible for messing this up, not you guys!
@Grave: now i know this probably isnt the perfect answer to the space issue, but i’d highly reccomend upgrading the HDD in your ps3. I too had a space issue and upgraded to a 360gb HDD for like 109$ (this was a 1.5-2.5 yrs ago) Greatest decision ive made thus far for Ps3. Nowadays you can probably find the same hard drive, if not more powerful ones for probably about 60$. Again, i know its not a solution to the game being 10gigs, but the convienece of never having to delete stuff is fantastic.
SCEA… You disappoint.
Oh, and am I supposed to take it that the PS3 DLC will be free while the Xbox DLC will cost, I wonder if that won’t just start another flame war entirely…
With it settled, since we all assume it’s on Sony on the bluray matter, just *tell us* it was Sony in plain writing, please. Not as Aksys judging it, but just an open statement of fact to close the issue.
It’s that the innuendo is so ridiculously over-the-top that makes it painful to see a ‘T’. A lot will depend on re-translations I suppose. 90% of players will never see any of the silly stuff without a guide used (on a 2nd play, of course!) so much is moot, on top. I just pray the wedding scenes aren’t as vomit-inducing.
Don’t suppose we could game the system and get a form for a “download backup jewel case for $10+shipping” included with the PSN download? The cycle has to end SOMEhow, and I can only see that possible until everything theoretically available to either version can obtain any of it. (re: sell the toys as a stand-alone, no free DLC)
Since this is Idea Factory, I figure the gameplay will be the same as Cross Edge and Spectral Force.
Yah know? I think somnambulist is a Sony spy! He keeps trying to get Aksys to say something bad about Sony when they’ve said they can say nothing. Don’t tell them anything Aksys!
I’m still gonna day one purchase for the PS3…
Also, the mouse pad may actually cause there to be less of a chance of XBOXers getting the collectors…
Mouse pad + Kid who sits at computer all day = Either a stolen mouse pad, some angry parents, or a dead Kid…
But since the PS3’s is a download, it’ll be able to hit it’s target audience with less fatalities!
…Which could have been Sony’s plan…
And free stuff is always nice.
Not enough room on my ps3’s HDD for this game. Guess this game is a pass, don’t want to fork up another 60-100 bucks for a bigger HDD or leave my ps3 on a few days to dl this game with my crappy internet. 🙁
I haven’t heard any PS3 owners say they would rather a download copy over a physical one. Come on Aksys!
You guys all go ahead and don’t buy the PS3 version with your paltry excuses of lack of HDD space.
The low sales of the PS3 version compared to the 360 will only reaffirm to SCEA that there is no market for JP-only dub games, and that they’re not worth an approval for retail release.
The higher sales of the 360 version will also reinforce Aksys perception that selling a quick buck to the 360 crowd will net them better profit than bending over for PS3 users because they don’t care enough to spend the cash to actually support Aksys and get the game, they only care enough for the trinkets and the system warz.
Paltry excuses? Oh, that’s cute, artego. If you’re offering to buy me a new hard drive I’m totally down! Yeah, it’ll be a shame if it doesn’t do well on PS3. Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee that download-only situations like this will go away even if it sells a boatload of copies. The disc release is infinitely more appealing to me than a 10GB download. In the end you’re still supporting Aksys regardless of which version you buy. Everybody wins, right?
10GB out of what? 60GB? 80GB? 120GB? 160GB? 240GB?
At worst, 16% of your HDD, at best, 2.4%. Is that really a cause for all the whining that’s going on? I’m assuming all of you have 100s of PS3 games that you must install all at once every day, because I can’t think of any other reason as to why 10GB would matter so much to you.
No, there’s no guarantee that the download-only situation will go away even it sells a boatload of copies. But you know what? It *is* guaranteed you won’t see either a download *or* retail copy in the future if it sells *no* copies. So continue on that whining parade, don’t buy your copy, and see what happens next time there’s a game you want on the PS3.
Everybody wins. Sure, if all the PS3 whiners were to give up on the PS3 copy and get a 360 copy instead, then yes, Aksys gets their support and everyone wins. Somehow I don’t see that happening though.
i will be downloading the game on psn. 10gb is really not alot. and if waiting for a download to finsh bothers u so much download it when sleeping problem solved. i would like the sound track though probly only reason i might buy it for the 360. but i really hate that system. no idea why you not releaseing a disc copy of this game for the ps3. whatever the reason it dumb sense you releaseing a disc copy for the 360… i like to feel i own the game other then a download. that my only problem with download only psn… glad you are releaseing this for the ps3 though will be buying it when released thanks.
Whoa, I just noticed this post!!
Nice picture. Who agrees?
I’m already on the Fifth Generation and this game is still awesome. So much to do even much more to see. This is by far the best game I have ever bought for the 360 as of right now. 🙂
