It may be that if you have a surround system, the voices are more or less equal on both sides, and being routed to your center channel speaker - see if you can set your receiver strictly to 2-channel, or at the very least, disable spatialization ("concert", "rock", "classic" etc.)
If you cannot disable surroundsound and it's still causing issues, maybe try a DVD that has a setup feature in it, and make sure the test sound from your front, rear, and center speakers are all equal, and that the wires on your center are not reversed - it'll still make sound, but it will be out of phase with the other speakers and can sound... odd at times.

Also... maybe you can tell your console to output differently, like in stereo, just for testing?

I'm using a surround sound system but I don't think this game really makes use of that, so it should get the same results for stereo I think.

I had already tried adjusting things through the game and it hasn't helped. The stereo seems to be fine for everything else.

Something to add, is that in my case, Mu's voice is a bit louder than the other characters'. Not like I complain. I like Kanako Kondo's voice a lot.

The Japanese voices are way too quiet!! When I was watching youtube videos BBCS I could hear them crisply and clearly and they were not drowned out by other sounds. Now after release however, they can barely be heard above sound effects and music. Now you could just say turn the volume up but I have done that. Everything else just drowns them out, even if music is under 50%. Turning the stereo system up should not be necessary with the volume potential of all the other sounds. So I'm requesting: PLEASE PATCH and raise the volume so we can hear the characters talking.

If anybody else agrees, please help this get the attention of Aksys!!
