Going back to some older games for a bit, starting with LittleBigPlanet 2.

I'm pretty late to the party (been tied up w/ college -your mother is a classy lady- and ordered this late), but check out my alt box art mwahahaha :3

I'm actually afraid to start FF13-2 for this reason, since they insisted on bringing him back. I think SE has turned into Gainax and is actively engaging in fan abuse at this point...

Hope has matured a lot. He's actually a GOOD driving force of the story, actually being a halfway decent person now. He's not a battle character though, if that makes it any better.

8 is my favorite too, but I'm sure that is partly due to it being my first real Final Fantasy game. (Mystic Quest doesn't count, aside from the music which was awesome)

But yeah, everything in 13 aside from the graphics just felt so sub-par to me. The only character that seemed remotely relatable for me was Sazh. The game really just started feeling like a chore after a while. Also, as far as I'm concerned, none of the music really stood out to me. To this day I can remember all the lyrics for Eyes on Me, and hum the Triple Triad theme, but ask me to try recalling any music from 13...and uhh..I'm drawing a blank.

I really don't know what is up with the XIII hate, yeah it aint perfect and the dev team definitely made a lot of mistakes in it's development, but it's still not even close to being as terrible as people paint it to be. I love the older games as much as the next person, but they were full of issues and such, but people just seem to enjoy conveniently overlooking those and remembering only the good. I don't mind if it's not everyones cup of tea, that's fine, I just hate seeing it treated like it did some unspeakable horror to them or their family for merely existing.

I know what you mean. Went and purchased Yakuza 3 after looking into the backstory in Yakuza 4s movie player. Yakuza 4 is the reason I'm picking up Yakuza: Dead Souls and in the near future, Yakuza 5 nyaa.

Of course actually paying attention to the story is something that should be worth a Platinum Trophy these days when you consider how many people complain about the story BECAUSE they didn't pay attention and refuse to accept they were wrong.
