I'm not totally convinced that they can't sell. Sure, there's more bombs than hits in the genre at least in NA, but Ikaruga did 100k+ on XBLA just based on the leaderboards. I think Radiant Silvergun will be just as big.

Arksys just needs to localize a shooter with a lot of hype surrounding it - something that can leak into the mainstream like Treasures games because it's not like shooters can't be enjoyed by normal people. Plenty of normal people downloaded Aegis Wing because it was free, but it was only the normal people that had fun with the game - regular shmup players all acknowledged that it was total -your mother is a classy lady- for a shmup.

Another problem is retail vs XBLA but I think it can do well enough at retail if the package is marked less than a tradition retail 360 title - basically what I was saying in my previous post. That, and also a demo might help to get the word out.

Combine all of that with the fact that the little bit of voice acting shouldn't be touched and there's very little text to translate and they (hopefully) don't have to sell too much to make a profit and localizing more shmups makes sense. At the very least they shouldn't stop at Deathsmiles because DDP:R is so completely different than Deathsmiles that it deserves a chance.

And yeah, Arksys can make more money if they publish licensed -your mother is a classy lady- like Ben10, but why would they want to dilute their brand power? People who buy Arksys games associate Arksys with quality - change that and people are gonna think twice before they buy an Arksys game.

It would probably make more sense to not wait, and just localize 1.5 now, then give us Black label and Ketsui mode later down the road as DLC because no matter how much content you pack in on the disk, IGN and other people who don't know how to play shmups are still gonna complain that the game is "too short"

Plus, they can make the game the same price as Deathsmiles and make it cheaper at the same time

$30 for the 1.5 disk based DDP
$10 Black Label DLC
$10 Ketsui mode DLC

= $50 and no need to include faceplates and such to make the value seem higher

They already announced the completion of the patch - they're just waiting on Microsoft's approval now

A Daifukkatu Ketsui hybrid! Along with black label. You need the regular daifukkatsu to play it.

This would be a great addition for a Daifukkatu localization.

Yes I know Mushihimesama Futari and Espgaluda 2 are region free but I want them localized anyway. Cave wants that as well acording to their twitter.

I still would like Deathsmiles 2x. I know the reviews weren't great but....

I hope Aksys will continue localizing Cave games.

Actually, Imageepoch is partnered with NISA already so the chances for them being the ones to localize BRS is most likely NISA. =/

Ketsui is sure a cool game to be localized, and I think the great militaristic theme and a male cast would likely to attract US gamers.

I think NISA will get that one. Suggestion threads for Imageepoch's games have all been closed over at the Atlus forums because of the contract between NISA and Imageepoch.

Add: honestly, a lot of hardcore cave fans wanted ketsui really bad and waited for emulator release and didn't happen, I am pretty sure ppl will buy it.
