Just for good measure, I'll also tell you that the Wii sells here for some US $620 through official retailers (the other ones sell it for a meager US $347), the 250GB Xbox 360 S (unofficially) for US $496, and Sony sells the PS2 for US $198 and the 160GB PS3 Slim for US $669.

As you can see, down here this whole hobby is a pretty damn steep slope all the way...

The consoles and games are officially imported from USA and are all NTSC U/C, just like Mexico and other LA countries save for maybe Brazil, while the analog TV standard used for all transmissions here is PAL-N. However, practically all TV sets here are multi-standard, so it's transparent to the end-user. The same goes for the Wii and the PlayStation 3, although I guess you can play European games on the PS3 as long as you're on an HDTV.

Due to the whole import business, games here are quite expensive. New releases go for about 380 pesos, that's US $95, and that's what independent importers charge. I've generally bought most PS2 games from a local store which itself buys them to GameStop, and I ordered my copy the moment the game was released, but there was a number of issues and after about 90 days of waiting never got it.
