My save file was corrupted in the main warehouse as well, and I wasn't even attempting to save. The glitch happened right during a novel section while I was trying to finish Clover's ending. I had 18 hours into the game and I even used the "workaround" posted by Aksys themselves. Whenever I try to reload, all I get is a black screen.

Yeah, except that's exactly where my save got corrupted, in the main warehouse. So nothing is actually safe.

I will add, that I finished it earlier this week, only saving at the end of branches and in the main warehouse room. It froze once in the stupid PEC Room, but I only lost 5-10 minutes instead of 30 hours, so it really wasn't too bad.

So, to anyone worried about the game crashing and corrupting your save at any point, I wouldn't worry about it. Only save in the main warehouse and you should be fine.

So this is the worst glitch I've ever encountered in a game. I hit it 31 hours in during a novel section. They shouldn't have shipped with it, they should have patched it and failing that, I would have liked to have seen better communication with the gaming community about the issue.

That said, I'm trying my best to not let it ruin my game. It might not be the solution you're looking for, but because the game is so cutscene heavy I just turned the brightness all the way down on my 3DS, and I'm leaving it on to essentially re-grow the flow tree to the state that I had it in. I just need to peak at it every so often to see if I need to switch to 'Auto' from 'Stop', and sometimes I can switch to 'Skip' to knock off a big chunk. Room breaks that you've done don't take too long to finish with a walkthrough. You can often skip a lot of the steps and get right to a code at the end of it. It's not ideal, but I feel better than I did when I was ready to just give up on it. If it were any other game, I don't think I'd have much of a choice though.

Ok, so I just got this game for Christmas and I've been DYING to play it. I was really enjoying it for over ten hours when suddenly I tried to load my save and it loads ok, the picture shows, the sound starts, and then immediately it freezes and locks the 3DS and I have to hold the power button to turn it off.

This is a save in Warehouse A, during a novel section, without me going anywhere near the PEC room
(I've never been there) and without having been anywhere near the crew quarters for hours. I've been searching all over and haven't found any other accounts of people getting this kind of error in this kind of situation. Also I don't just get the black screen when I try to load. Over and over it loads fine, the picture (of Dio) comes up, the sound starts for a couple seconds then everything freezes. I can't do anything from there.

I just really wish there was ANY way to resolve this other than starting completely over. And I'm hesitant to start over if I know my data could be lost through saving at ANY moment, ANY where, not just in puzzle rooms.

This really makes the game unplayable and it's a damn shame.

I also had the same exact problem as other people - I saved in the PEC Room, at which point the game stopped accepting almost all input, and when I turned the game off and back on, the save file was corrupted (it would hard-lock the 3DS on a black screen).

This is especially annoying as I was about 25 hours in, had finished 4 of the endings. I love this game, and Aksys for localizing it, but this is REALLY annoying, seeing as I don't have all that much time to play games in the first place (this is the only one I've made time to play since it came out).

Just learned about this. I would really appreciate an official update on this issue, even if it's just "we won't fix it".

What disappoints me the most is how this bug was handled. At the moment, the only hope of the game getting patched is a quote on the NeoGaf forums which has spread like wildfire to the rest of Internet news sites which boils down to a fix is being investigated. Any mention about it on FaceBook or Twitter go ignored. Even here there hasn't been any official acknowledgement of the bug. No press release. Nothing.

An ETA for the fix would be greatly appreciated. Even information about what causes the save bug to help players avoid it would be nice. Minimally, I'd hope for some form of acknowledgement on the part of Aksys.

In the meanwhile I put the game aside hoping some sort of fix comes out as playing it until the save file got corrupted was quite enjoyable.

I can confirm that personally. I saved during a novel part in the PEC room and my save file got corrupted. There goes an additional 12 hours on top of the 14 hours for the first save game (lost the first one during the PEC puzzle room.)

Fed up with this and utterly disappointed.

Same issue for me but in GAULEM Bay room. I saved there and when I load I got the black screen. Hope we could get a patch soon...

I heard about the file will be corrupted too if you save in PEC room even it is a novel section, so I only save at warehouse A/B and I just got true ending and got no corruption again.

So my advice: - Save only at Warehouse A/B or before making a choice

My save wont load also after saving in the PEC. I'm 20-some hours in... I've played the left and right branches all the way up until the ends or locks. I've gotten the DIO end so far.

I'm not sure about that one, but I had the problem a day ago. I tried getting the wifi switch off and than it worked. Maybe this part of the game needs to use more processing power and by desactivating it, makes it work.

I'll add ashore note - it is possible to also get a corrupted save file when in the that room during a voiced / story mode. I managed to lose my save file after 20+ hours and ensuring that I only saved during vocalized sections.

Safest method to save might be to jump back to a novel section at the beginning...

I like to leave a note to Aksys. I decided to head directly to the room with the glitch so maybe I could surpass it early on. I managed this time to past the ***SPOILER WARNING*** (i think, I mean it doesn't involve the plot) the puzzle after repressurizing the room. This time I avoided the hatch door and got *person* to pass me the clue. I was happy I passed the glitch! But then on the top floor when I just started the suit scanner puzzle, it froze. Kicked me out to Home Menu and restarted.
I Warn people, save outside (in the Novel part, when they voiced when talking) Never save inside that room when the puzzle starts. Even with a clean slate (my data was forced to be erased after this glitch) this room is glitchy and can ruin someone's data like mine was.

I originally signed up to explain a glitch I experinced in the Archives room that Set my back to the start of the game. This Glitch just happened to me. Now all that effort and all of those Hours have been wasted!! Its gone now and was forced to restart EVERYTHING! T - T . I can't say I ever experienced such a Glitchy game ever! And surprising for the 3DS no less. Man this really sucks! Please fix this game Aksys! Not for me, but for everybody that deserves to play this great game without going through what I just went through! I'am ganna find a guide somewhere to skip a major portion cause I was almost done now. So many mysteries unsolved *sniff ...so far away again... T-T

Yeah I got the same exact problem just now. I was on media black out on the game and I guess that screwed me over....I hope it can get patched 27 hours down the drain if not.

I called, and the guy on the phone said that they're investigating, and are going to patch it when they can. I also emailed, since he asked me to do that as well, and they responded with:

We are currently investigating the issue, but from our findings so far, we'd say that you refrain from saving your game in the PEC room, if you are playing the 3DS version.
