Trevock the only ones that were shown ever (the first ever leak) showed only Sol and Sin.

Hmmm. If only I could find that damn article.

Well I knew it did bad in U.S. but "boring". To me the game was amazingly fun. 2 VS 2 battles are so crazy they'll leave you saying WTF hapened at the end. Points matches were a real hell for sure (every man for himself...). The only thing that was boring to me was the lame story translation, the orchastrated music-only, and the shortage of returning characters.

THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!! (...i'm actually playing it right now LOL)

PS: Sol Badguy says's: "shut up-shut up-your in my way-(MODERN CANCEL)- this is about 50% of my energy....TYRANT RAVE." (this is called the badguy rush down)

I wonder how they expect to make a sequel if the first wasn't all that great. Unless it's doing a hell of alot better in Japan.
I remember being so excited about it when I first heard. Then saw more videos and screen shots and it kind of killed it for me. I still haven't played it and kind of don't want to unless I can for free or very cheap.
I also remember seeing Japanese magazine scans when the news just broke and it had screen shots of something that didn't even make it into the final ver. of the game.
Wasn't there supposed to be a mode in the game that was like 3D with 2D gameplay, I know I'm not crazy I still remember those pics I saw, they had Millia, Kliff, Potemkin and like 5 others. Anyone else remember that?

But guys really. I don't see a GG3 or X3 for that matter happening untile GUILTY GEAR 2 is done with.

I don't see GUILTY GEAR 2 ending anytime soon since I'm probrably guessing Daisuke named it "OVERTURE" because of 2 reasones:

1: OVERTURE is the first installment of the "2" series.

2: the word OVERTURE itself marks the beginning of a new chapter.

But these are just guesses. All I know for sure is Daisuke said their will-WILL be another installment for GG2 that they are currently working on. Daisuke's main side-focuse right now is Blazblue.

I hope this clears something up about the next expected GG title....maybe the forum to...just....maybe.

Yeah that would be cool! Even in Sol's ending Sol could have just fought him-and when you fight him, win or lose, the same ending happens. Even if wasn't unlockable it would've been cool to fight him. He has his own character pic and everything-- they could have just added the side story from "Lighting the Argent" so you could fight him.

But in Guilty Gear 2 Raven had reason no to fight at all. He was being nice and protecting Ky (i think) While Sol fetched Dr. Paradigm. When Sol appears he (obviously) is infuriated by him. Raven Didn't want to fight but Sol forced it on him.

Reason enough I guess....

Don't you think that it would've been cool though to have had Raven as the boss of Accent Core+ instead of I-NO. I think it would've worked because I-NO was kind of on the run in the AC+ story mode. Just running around being a serious B, she wasn't really even obeying her master and I think that it would've been cool if they acknowledged this by having Raven taking her place as the new boss. You were saying how Raven is supposed to be stronger than everyone. He would work perfectly as a boss. Then for his playable character just have him be somewhat cheap like Justice and Kliff (even though that would suck), it would be more realistic if he's all super strong and what not.

Heh I don't care. As long as Daisuke is still GD then things should go smoothly. Yeah thier is a chance that they could remove him but for right now he's free to do what he wants until then. As GD he has power of Gameplay,Recurring and Returning characters,Story, Voice Actors, and Music. Sega (again) could choose to override these abilities but ya know as long as they don't. DI pretty much has the most control over the making ( bad thing is that Sega can choose to cancle marketng or production). I don't know about 2D but I certainly know their making a sequel to GG-2.

maybe Daisuke could beg for it back.But really he wanted to do this anyway. All I knoww is there will be a new 2D game(whether its an HD 2D and continues with x,not sure)But I honestly like both the 3D and 2D games.the real only problem you guys have to worry about is, really thing can change quickly.so DI may not be general director of the game(as long as sega owns it they can change the maker of it to).and then question if diasuke being general director (as of now) has a big or low effect over diasuke having to do with the making of the game.I have to go now.But as proof of what I'm saying ever since reply 1 on this post page,i will post an interview link(oh and it is not the one where he admits tothe fact that GG is owned by sega,so if you havent read this one don't assume it's that one.

I feel you. Guilty Gear makes characters interesting by simply making them wierd, cool, and new. The only thing I find in GG even close to other animes are the traditional fire vs lightning rivalry (Sol vs Ky). But even so Sol and Ky are still badass rivals and they both have amazing fighting styles. (espeicialy Sol's ).

I still like Blazblue but I'll still rate GUILTY GEAR over it.

It's not the histories, it's most of the designs I find boring. That's not to say there aren't some gems, but most of the cast seems like it was just ripped from some random anime. Guilty Gear on the other hand has the most diverse and original cast of characters I've ever seen.
Now I'm not saying any of this because I have a hate on for Blazblue. Like is said before,I'm sure it's going to be a great game and I am looking forward to it.. It's just that it can't replace Guilty Gear. Daisuke needs to beg, bargain or steal the rights to his baby back, because the fighting game world will be forever barren of it's greatest franchise if he doesn't.

Eh, your point is valid. It reminds me of the original Guilty Gear back in '98. The original are almost a perfect match in terms of concept. Chipp Zanuff/Bang. Ragna/Sol. Ky/Jin. Potamkin/Tager. Justice/V13. The other 4 characters don't follow into Blazblue (Faust, Millia and Eddie and May).

I think the cast of Guilty Gear has obviously desensitized people if they think the characters in BB are uninteresting. You've got an irritated possibly-insane terrorist who contains an ancient hellbeast inside of him and has vampiric powers, an egomaniacal military Major who's psycologically unstable and gay for said terrorist, a gigantic-but-gentlemanly cyborg with power over magnetism, a vampire chick who can control the weather and fights with the help of a demon and a shapeshifting cat umbrella, an amorphous blob that has the IQ of a genius despite being made up of insects, a nerdy-looking kid who has the ability to command a deadly living weapon created by a shadowy organization... I could do the whole cast, but you get the idea. How much anime do you have to watch before any of those characters seem normal, much less boring?

@Foofer: Yeah to SF3, Makoto is my favorite street fighter of all time. I wasn't implying that because street fighter is bland, Blazblue is more interesting. I only find...I guess 3 of the characters really interesting, but those characters are what make it worth it.

@ Solshido: I kind of agree. When your really serious about playing what really matters is movelist/tier ranking.... Still, it helps tremendously in enjoying the game if you like looking at your character. The reason I play Sol in GG (even though he is low tier) is simply because he's so damn cool.

I disagree. I believe the cast of a fighting game is hugely important. It's one of the main things that sets it apart from the competition, and what gives it a distinguishing mark in the industry.
Now of course the mechanics as well play a larger role in the game, but from what I've seen Blazblue plays quite similar to Guilty-Gear. That's fine of course, I'd say that Guilty Gear is easily the best fighting game series ever, with only a few even holding a close candle to it, but.. What made me fall in love with Guilty Gear wasn't just the mechanics, it was the cast and the fact that they actually tried to tell a story... and the music.
