Since they added a couple of days does that mean they ran out of what they ordered from you guys?

I suppose either way that doesn't matter (aside from, i guess it being a great start to the Hakuouki franchise in NA) because you'll get them more?

Also thanks for explaining your logistics. I had a general idea of how it worked, but it was more for, i guess, bigger companies and not for smaller companies. I do live on the east coast so i guess that accounts for the extra days added in. no worries about me personally showing up at your company. :)

I don't think you need to worry about Amazon running out.

As far as shipping goes, it works a little weird with smaller publishers like us, so let me try and explain:

The date that Amazon (or GameStop, or whoever) lists on their site (in this case, February 14th) is the ship date, and not really the "release date" in the popular sense of the term. Having a game actually release and be immediately available at all outlets across the US actually requires a great deal in the way of logistics, and consequently money, that smaller companies can't afford for niche titles. What that ship date of February 14th actually means is that February 14th is the day the game leaves our warehouse here in California, on its way to Amazon, or GameStop, or whoever. Places on the west coast will get it sooner (because they're closer) but places on, say, the east coast might have to wait a day or two longer while it gets there. The reason we give the date of February 14th is because that's the only concrete date we can really give for any part of that process.

Anyway, the tl;dr version is: Wherever you order from, it'll take a few days for you to get the game. How long depends on where you are. The only way to get it on release day would be to come down to our office and buy a copy (but please don't do that, we frighten easily). I know that's slightly less than desirable, but I hope that understanding what's going on will set your minds at least a little more at ease.

Oh! Also, Amazon's system will sometimes add sudden shipping delays (sometimes a week or two) when demand for a product exceeds their supply (or what they ordered from us). Generally they'll just ask us for more, we'll ship it to them, and the delay goes away in relatively short order, so a sudden shift in your projected delivery date for a pre-ordered item usually isn't anything to worry about.

Welch, you made me very WORRIED now. The shipping will be delayed and the demand for the game is HIGH. Now I'm scared that what if amazon runs out of copies and I don't get mine. O_O; OTL
Cause I pre oredered the LE one on Amazon with the free shipping, so I'll get it on maybe the 21st - 25th. I think gamestop will take a while with the pre order news.

Alright this is kind of all by hearsay, but just wondering.
I saw on the neoromance forums that someone said Amazon.com will have a delay in shipping because the demand for the game is bigger than they initially thought. (she also noted that a commenter on one of the siliconera also had the same issue) she has a special amazon membership for advance shipping but the earliest she's getting hers is the 20th.

i mean that sounds like great news but i'm still waiting for gamestop preorders so i can pick mine up on the day it comes out, but i'm worried if amazon is having trouble stocking it that i should not wait for gamestop and just swallow tge $10 shipping fee to get it on release day.

so i guess my question(s) is/are, will amazon run out of copies/time (sry if this is a stupid question) and any news on when/if gamestop will have theirs up?

edit - actually i was just about to go ahead with amazon when i noticed that it says the game is released on the 15, not the 14th and that 2 day delivery will arrive on the 20th and 1 day delivery will arrive on the 17th. x_X

ugh amazon wry u fail me!?
