Also, use characters like Zerva and the fox girl from Gen. 2. They have the hunter ability, which activates at 100 SP, and it really helps with capturing monsters. Merciful Strike is a general skill that won't take an enemy past 1 hp, making it a lot easier to get them below 5%. A character with Hunter activated and about 50 luck will almost always capture the monster.

Increase the luck on the character trying to capture.

If I remember correctly having luck to ~50 will capture a decent amount of enemies on the first try.

i just got this game and it says to capture monsters they have to have 5% health..i got their health down to almost none and i couldnt capture them lol
