I hope it is what I think it is. *CroSses fingers*

I'd love to have that game (or technically those games) and it'd probably do better than just specifically one game like with Deathsmiles, since most shmups only take a few hours to beat.

Try beating a SHMUP without continuing, then come back here and say that.
Seriously, powering through a SHMUP with unlimited continues will leave you with no appreciation for the game whatsoever, and the resulting lack of fulfillment will make the game's ultimate destiny the local Gamestop's Used bin.
Save your game from that unsavory fate - beat it right :)

I knew all of that but again, most people think shmups are only worth paying about $10 through a download service instead of paying for a full price retail one.
I went into Space Invaders Extreme knowing that it would be hard, and it took around 10 hours on a few weekends to beat normal mode.
Compared to most genres (namely RPGs) that can take up to 30 to 50 hours on average, shmups are relatively bite-sized.
We could also have a couple of games for one price, and possibly attract people into playing shmups.

Ah, I see. It's just, the way you phrased your previous posts are a bit misleading :)
You are absolute correct in that a SHMUP played from begin to end, with unlimited continues, regardless of skill, will take 30 min. on average. Cave really needs to have a kind of credit-purchase in their games of some sort, so casual players will be forced to play the game in depth and learn it's intricacies, resulting in a more enjoyable experience.
It's funny how gamers in the West are unwilling to pay a lot for a SHMUP because they are only seeing the 2D graphics instead of the gameplay. Yet, the Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets bundle is probably going to cost me around $70, and probably over $100 (with shipping) to import it from Japan. Different sensibilities I guess :(
Dunno, I like speeding through the stages on my first play-through but after that first play-through I never use any continues, totally takes the fun and satisfaction out of it for me.
Anyways, hopefully they'll announce something at the Cave event next month

Cave needs to make a "collection" like Taito made one (actually a couple) called Taito Legends.
I see "shooter" thrown around alot online and hope they mean shmup instead of something like a big budget fps.

Will never happen. Cave games are far too legendary to be sloshed up, chomped down, and dumped into a compilation disk. MuchiPinkSweets is the best you'll get.
