Arcana Heart 3 for the Xbox 360?

In a way, this reminds me of the whole Deadly Premonition thing. I mean, you guys did the complete opposite of Ignition in the way the game is being released, but it's a little reminiscent of it nonetheless.

All right guys, here's the deal, for better or for worse:

First, the concrete bad news, as heavily implied in our initial press release: We will not be releasing Arcana Heart 3 for the Xbox 360, as a disc or as DLC.

We made every effort to release it on all possible systems, so that Arcana Heart 3 might reach the largest number of fans new and old. Unfortunately, this was ultimately not possible, for a variety of reasons which I’m not at liberty to discuss. We understand and sympathize with your frustration, but sadly a multiplatform release just isn’t in the cards for North America.

Data, data, data. I cannot make bricks without clay.

Well, as I said before, I didn't think it'd be due to lack of trying on your part.

Let's hope the European 360 version is region free...

Oh well, we all tried. Now I really hope Zen United can make all their versions region-free. At least I have Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Well, that's a shame. Thanks for keeping up updated Belisarius. As I don't own a PS3 my only hope is that the European edition is region free.

Such a shame as Aksys has been able to bring over both Blazblue titles, Battle Fantasia, as well as Agarest War for both platforms. It's a curious thing, that North America is the only major area that won't see a physical multiplatform release of Arcana Heart.

It really is a shame... I may have a PS3, but I know a huge fan who doesn't.

I swear it has something to do with similar issues to Gal gun in Japan.... yeah, I know that made no sense, but that got me thinking...

I will be buying Record of Agarest War Zero for the 360 when it come out.
thanks Belisarius i love Aksys games you are better than Atlus this gen. i will buy Arcana Heart 3 from Aksys if i ever get ps3.

Microsoft apparantly had to call the creators in to censor a huge portion of the game.

But really, now that I think about it, I'm pursuing the wrong line of thinking.

I'm not sure if it was as huge as many had thought though. After watching a playthrough of the game and playing the demo myself it seemed they scaled back on a few things (namely panty shots), but a great deal of the game seems to have stayed the same, at least in comparison to earlier coverage.

Sad to hear, but we know Aksys gives 110% and you got our support! (I'd like to support my foot in a certain something's certain something that keeps doing this you guys, but que sera sera)

I do appreciate the fast reply, Beli. I am more than content to know that you guys did try. At least you guys got a good deal with Record of Agarest War Zero, so everything's good as far as I'm concerned. :)

That's a real shame. I am however planning on getting a ps3 eventually (not just for AH3, but that is one reason) Still i think I'll just import the EU version. I much prefer to have a physical copy. But thank you for trying and thank you for being straight forward with us.

While this bad news doesn't particularly affect me, as I (1) have a PS3 and (2) imported the game already, it does severely hurt the chances of AH3 becoming a popular fighter in my area. Despite the fact that most of our gatherings use PS3s, a sizable number [5+] of the local players interested in Arcana Heart have 360s as their only consoles.

The efforts undertaken are appreciated, but it doesn't make sense to me why the only US release of the game would be on the import-friendly system as opposed to the largely region-locked one.

Honestly, I hate when this kind of stuff happens. I know that the developers don't want to sour their developer/publisher/console maker relationship but I feel as if gamers/customers really knew what was happening and WHY certain things happened things would be very different.

When there was a limit for arcade releases on 360 and it got out that the 360 version of certain games would have cut content due to the size restriction, MS started moving up the size restriction until it was totally removed.

I'm going to pick this up, but it'll be the disk version because I know it'll take FOREVER to download this, plus I like having artwork etc. Thanks Aksys...at least you tried.

Yeah, this is basically the same for me.

I have a J360 and have been playing the game already, but I also have a bunch of friends online and off who won't be able to get into it now. Here's to hoping Zen comes through on this one, the US scene needs it.
