Does anyone know if this is region-locked? Also, what does the Limited Edition offer?

We don't know if it's region locked yet, but assume it will be. As for the LE, amiami states it comes with a 2CD OST and LE packaging.

While I'd prefer a PS3 version, this would still be a definite day 1 purchase for me if it was localized!

I placed my vote! If it's announced for the United States, I will pre-order it the moment it turns up. I hope it gets here, and soon. I have the original on my PC, and I can personally say that EVER 17 is a "must buy" I really loved the game. Honestly, I would get the remake with or without the added features to support visual novel sales here, but they are a nice touch and really have me sold on buying it. Fingers crossed.

Q: Do you have any plans to bring this game overseas? What about other games, through Nitroplus USA or other localization companies?
A: We are aware of the overseas market, of course. We will capture the populace with visual novels, and we will then commence a unique plan of attack for overseas, so please look forward to it!
Ever17 maybe? :3
Oh Summer, the love you bequeath with your wonderful leitmotif~

I sincerely hope so...

Thanks for posting the Siliconera interview with 5pb. That's an excellent interview. The more love for the visual novel, the better chances of Ever17 coming to the US! WOO!!!
(I would also happily take chaos;head and a host of others. Ever17 is just the most highly preferred)

There was an interview with the writer for 999 and Ever 17 in Nintendo Power as well about how visual novels are starting to become a little bit more common in Western society =o

New infinity game, code_18, on PSP and X360.
I figured this topic needed a bump with some (potentially) good news.Posted 1 year ago # -
Ugh, I hate the characters' looks already >> I like the Infinity games because they're not all... Well, not THAT. Hopefully that's just a really bad example.

They certainly look outrageously cutesier than characters previous Infinity titles. But since it's written by Kotaro Uchikoshi, I'm willing to give it a shot. (If it gets localized... *hint hint* ;) ...or when my Japanese gets up to standard!)

(If it gets localized... *hint hint* ;) ...or when my Japanese gets up to standard!)Where does it say that Uchikoshi's writing it? It mentions that Uchikoshi wrote Ever17, sure, but it doesn't say anything about him writing Code18. I don't think Uchikoshi would write it anyway, since he's part of Chunsoft now.
I'm still probably going to buy it because the Infinity series is my favorite game series of all time, but still...
I'm still skeptical for the time being. In the meantime, I'm still looking forward to Root Double instead. Here's hoping that it will actually be released despite the earthquake.

I don't believe Code 18 is written by Uchikoshi, just that it's part of the Infinity series. Uchikoshi only did Ever 17 from the Infinity series that I know of.

Never7: He was the scenario planner and one of the five writers.
Ever17: Was the scenario planner and one of the four writers.
Remember11: Was one of the six writers of Kokoro's Route, and one of the two writers of Satoru's Route (though he did this under a pseudonym).
12Riven: Pretty much handled the entire story (was the scenario planner and sole writer).Posted 1 year ago # -
Oh, also, in some unfortunate news, Ever17's release date in Japan has been delayed to an unknown date.

According to this article, Aksys will make some "announcements" at Anime Expo. FINGERS CROSSED FOR EVER17!!
