Now, I'll never forget how happy and excited I was when DeathSmiles was announced. I am forever grateful to Aksys for publishing one of my favorite game ever (even though I'm not that good but that's beside the point ^_^)
Like a lot of people, my first impression when reading that statement was: Bull****, they're so disappointed with the sales that they decided not to take another shot. Even though I personally thought the sales of DS were impressive (as I said in another topic).
But maybe that's not the case. Could be another reason. It took Aksys 8 months to publish a slowdown patch and 9 months to put DLC on the marketplace. Is the relation between CAVE and Aksys sour? Bad business experience? Not enough support from CAVE versus the profits Aksys made from DS versus the money to had to give to get the rights to publish the game here?
They are not "pursuing any other similar games" Does that mean they won't publish any other SCHMUPS or any other games from CAVE?
Then again, we've seen a trend where Aksys is putting more and more of their efforts towards the PSP so maybe their decision is related to that too.
I still like you Aksys, that won't stop me from buying Record of Agarest Zero, but I am as disappointed with your decision as you are with your DeathSmiles experience, whatever the reason may be.
