So how anyone going since the PSN outage

I hate being one shotted by any boss. It's a big slap in the face, then stepping on you while you're down kind of moment. Speaking of which, when I about to kill the Emperor in the Emperor/Empress fight, my would be last attack missed, and the Emperor one shot me. Out of all the battles, I had to be done in like that. Ugh.

When my first PS3 got stolen, I was so far into Star Ocean. Now that I've had my new ps3, I haven't touched it. Still play the PS1 star oceans though.

Star Ocean II was pretty close to my favorite game in high school. The game itself holds up pretty well, but the writing and story...not so much.

Yeah, its something like TLH, 1, 2, and then 3 I think? I can't really remember when in the timeline 3 was supposed to be.

I think the writing and story hold up compared to something, like say, Secret of Mana, but there wasn't really much of a story at all in that game.

You were probably just disappointed that they didn't let you delve further into Ashton's barrel fetish, weren't you? ;)

Of course I was fairly young at the time...

But yeah, Star Ocean.... terribad stories... great gameplay seems to be the rule, at least thats always been my impression. As good as Tri Ace gameplay mechanics can be, I swear if they teamed up with a competent writer they would be a huge deal.

Played the heck out of SO:TEOT... gagged at the story after a while... but still played the heck out of it.

Decided to give MGS4 another run.

Next to Peace walker and MGS3, I have to say it's my fave.
Also, just re-beat Lunar: Silver Star Harmony on my PSP.

Heh. I do feel kinda bad I was too young to realize how awesome the series was in the 90's.

Here's hoping that Eternal Blue sees a remake too. =p

Keep your patience, you will find something to do if you try. Me, I've taken to my PSP and Wii. I picked up No More Heroes 2 recently and I have yet to finish Other M. On my PSP Dissidia Duodecim reigns, and I have been leveling and AP grinding the chars I didn't have back in Dissidia 1, I max lvl'd everyone else. I probably should turn back on Blazing Souls: Accelate, but I have no idea what I'm doing half the time in that game when I'm not in a battle, so its a little discouraging.

IDK what else to do though, I have a semi-long ps2 backlog and a phat PS3, but maybe I should do something like practice AH3 or BB:CS, although the latter is debatable because
the patch coming soon.

Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to Agarest War Zero right now (although I'm pretty sure the psn will be back on long before that comes out in June) as that is one of the better games in recent memory that I didn't mind pouring hour upon hour into, cause I enjoyed almost every minute.

I platinumed Ar Tonelpedo 3 and finally got around to opening that hyperdimension neptunia. erghhh, I can see why so many people didn't care much for it. Tales of Graces/Vesperia and Ar Tonelpedo 3 are definitely my choices for this gens best rpgs =). I really enjoyed Idea factory's ps3 games thus far too. Thanks, Aksys, for keeping up with the Agarest series by localizing zero.

Maybe best jrpgs but western rpgs offer quite a few things that haven't been matched yet by Japanese developers. Maybe one day they'll have their mass effect or elder scrolls equivalents but I don't think they will anytime soon.
