Wish Deathsmile was on EU XBox...
I thought Rising Star Games did bring Deathsmiles to Europe are you talking about Deathsmiles 2X.
I know how you feel i wish Aksys would try again to bring Arcana Heart 3 to the US for the 360. or i would take Arcana Heart 3 another publisher for the 360.
Since no localization work will be done, I hope Cave will continue to release its discs in region-free format, so that those of us who prefer discs can still import. Also, it's a shame that the text will not be localized. Deathsmiles had an interesting story, and it's a shame that I'll be missing out the Deathsmiles II story. Aksys would have done a great job of localizing this.
I'm really surprised that localization isn't being done. Text localization is relatively cheap and easy to do. Maybe they'll offer an English DLC patch down the road. As much as I'd hate to pay $5 for something that should have been free, I'd pay $5 for a text localization patch.
On the one hand, it's great that we're getting DS2 at all, especially since Aksys did say they weren't pursuing it. On the other, I paid $30 for Aksys' version of DS1, which contained $18 worth of DLC and a really top-notch localization, neither of which this $30 version of DS2 will have.

If that were true, nobody at Aksys would have a job.

Are you sure about that? 'Cause everything I hear from localization support always state otherwise, for one reason or another. It's definitely not cheap is the impression they give every time.
Someone mentioned the English patch on their Facebook page, so maybe they'll keep that in mind.
Also, yikes, people are really dang fickle with measuring costs of a game. I'd say 29.99 is absolutely fair for the price. Anything lower is just a complete slap to the face for Cave, imo, 'cause this game should be worth more than that. Let be honest here. It's not a "glorified rental".
well since Deathsmiles is going to be Games on Demand, I guess I wont be buying it. to bad for them.
I hope you enjoy it :)
I wont't buy it cause this trend is going to continue if we support it, but alas I can't stop anyone from doing this. I'll just continue not buying downloadable games, besides theres plenty other games too.
Trouble Witches Neo is awesome though, if you havent gotten it.. you should (btw that game was ported from PC)
yes, i have it ^.^
So you're totally cool downloading Trouble Witches but not DSIIX?

yup, the game was never disc released in any region on xbox 360.
Update: Microsoft told Joystiq that you will be able to use Microsoft Points to purchase Deathsmiles 2X. Retrieve the pieces of that points card from the shredder!
Just an update, Siliconera was wrong about the credit card thing. You CAN use points, Cave told Joystiq:

Yeah but by buying it you're telling SNK that digital shmups are a good alternative to boxed shmups so say goodbye to boxed shmups

Siliconera updated about the points/card thing last night. I should've mentioned it here earlier!

as long as the game wasnt released as disc form on the same console before I don't mind paying for the game, also the game costs 800 (10 dollars) points instead of 30 dollars which is more akin to a disc released game not a download.
But by boycotting the game what message do you really think they're receiving? Couldn't they just as easily interpret a lack of sales as a complete lack of enthusiasm for shmups in the west or on the 360 platform? You already see CAVE shifting over to the non-shmup markets so by drying up their source of income you might only convince them to do more visual novels and less shmups. At the very least Asada seems frustrated at the 360 audience which is why he was talking about shifting Dangun Feveron from 360 to iPhone where their games are actually selling. Personally I'd rather have my CAVE shmups on 360
Plus, GoD is THE ONLY WAY many of the games I listed on the previous page have any chance of coming over so it's more of a DIGITAL or NOTHING not a DIGITAL or DISK or a NOTHING or DISK so I think you truly want to support this cause but you just don't know it yet.

thats why I post in their forums to voice my opinion, so they know that at least 1 person (me, and anyone else that decides to post) are not willing to buy download games, we want the disc version of the games.
If I didnt say anything you'd be right, but I do voice my opinion, so at least I know I just didnt buy it.
given the option of digital or nothing when the game was released in japan as disc, then I prefer nothing, I don't know why other people just can't pass up games, its like their lives depended on it.
Iphone games costs way less than 360 download games though, also there alot of -your mother is a classy lady- games on iphone (i know cause I had one) and the few CAVE games are like godsends to the platform.
The only way I will support Cave, Aksys or any other company is by buying their disc based games, I dont want download imports of games that were released on disc in their territory.
If other people want to support buying their Games on Demand games, then go ahead, I just wont support that deal, and they'll get 1 sale less or maybe a few more as I read in some forum how people were saying the same "no disc no buy" line.
guess so but I'll be blaming you if Akai Katana is the last thing CAVE does on 360

Fair enough :)
talk to you tomorrow or some other day as I gotta go now.
