Licensing request for next year; Aquapazza

Given that Blazblue did really well, and AH3 did well given the circumstances (great PSN fail), I'd like to see Aquapazza given a chance next year provided it gets a Japanese port via PSN.

Why it should be given a chance:

a) It's getting an SBO slot like Arcana Heart
b) It's not an airdash combo fighter like Arcana Heart. Having a "poverty" game that plays differently would be a breath of fresh air.
c) It's Examu, so Arc would publish and netcode wouldn't be an issue.

I might import this one, but I'd love to see you guys get it.

I'm not a big fan of the airdash/10second combo genre, I got Arcana Heart but didn't care for it gameplay-wise, and I wasn't a big fan of Blazblue until the CS2 update, which made me like it better. I'd rather see more traditional style fighters like this one given a shot in the US.

I want this game -_- I'm really not expecting it to get ported to systems though. who knows; maybe examu will team up with arc again =/ I call Touka btw :3

Yeah, it does look kind of cool. Under Night In Birth should take priority, though.

Are you kidding me? An anime superstar fighting game? Their target audience is console users. A JP360 port is practically guaranteed

Aquapazza... I've seen videos of them... kind of reminds me of these PC doujinishi games I played before... I think it was called Party Breaker or something like that...
In any regard, I wouldn't mind seeing Aquapazza.. but Under Night feels more like the GG/BB/Melty Blood game I'd want right now.

You got that right. It's amazing how fluidly animated it looks. Compared to Aquapazza, you can tell how much more attention French Bread puts into animating their sprites. They've come a long way from making a PC doujin game based off a doujin visual novel.

In fact, UNIB runs at true 720p. Even BlazBlue doesn't do that. So we might be looking at the single most graphically advanced 2D game that's ever been made.

With the game release now only 3 months away, I thought I might go ahead and bring this subject up again. With the console port being ver 2.0, I'm definitely digging Chizuru so far as she seems to play like a mixture of herself on "The Queen of Heart '99 SE" and Akiha from Melty Blood.

There's already a post by someone about this game on Atlus forums, I think; but I would sure love to see this get ported over......and hopefully an actual physical release and not DLC only like the fiasco that was Arcana Heart 3.

I would also like to see this game localized in the US. Aquapazza looks pretty interesting, and the game (or actually the characters in the game) has a US fan-base.

Would be nice to have it on disc too. but if PSN is the only way, I guess that's better than nothing.... Just hope PSN doesn't shut down on the exact day that the game is released. :V

I've always been interested in fighting games (despite not being skilled with them) and this game is no exception nyaa. We already have Arcana Heart here, Phantom Breaker is coming in about two weeks, so why not this one too?

Having a disc is fine, though I'm not sure which will matter anymore really. I have plenty of games that require the game to be downloaded onto the hard drive, so I relatively see little point whether or not I'll pick up a copy or download it via PSN...unless there's a nice LE...then I'll pick the disc.

Yeah...would be nice that the PSN doesn't shut down like that...just hope another hacking fiasco doesn't place nyaa.

I kinda wonder how many companies will have to be contacted just to get this released in English. Considering the whole roster is from something else will make things difficult.

Not as difficult as something like Capcom vs. Tatsunoku, but I imagine it'd still be an adventure and a half.

The roster of characters are from different series.... but fortunately, all of those series are all from Aquaplus. :)

Can't happen, the rights are tied up with different companies. ADV owns Utawarerumono in the US, for instance. Yes, ADV still exists as a rights-holding body, even if they sold most of their stuff off.

At least it's on the region-free PS3.

ADV & Funimation may have the rights over the the US handling of the Utawarerumono series as well as Comic Party Revolution & Right Stuf Inc. having the rights over the To Heart & Comic Party series, however, they have no control over the the actual property other than the anime series. Overall control of the characters, even in the US, is still in the hands of Aquaplus.
