Why is Battle Fantasia 360 exclusive for USA only?

Man i was really really looking forward to this, and it sucks to have the feeling when something youve bee waiting for isnt even coming out. Whats worst is that its only for USA. I'm not a 360 hater or anything but I prefer the Playstation controller for fighting games mainly because of the D-pad and also growing up with it(360 is a great controller for FPS BTW).
So what happend? I there a chance that AKSYS might change their minds? and if so How long will it take?
A game such as this cant afford to be missed. the Jpn Demo was amazingly fun "I need to have this" **i said that LITERALLY**Posted 3 years ago # -
A: There are lots of problems with putting games like this out on Sony systems, mostly due to Sony's antiquated system of deciding what can come out in the US or not. More than likely, it wasn't Aksys' decision to just -not- translate the PS3 version, and was more than likely a decision on Sony's part that told them that they -could not- do it. Alternate explanations include Aksys not having a PS3 dev kit to work with, them not having PS3 disk-printing abilities, or many other simple-yet-crippling hurdles which wouldn't allow them do it.
Rest assured they didn't make the decision to not port the PS3 version specifically to piss you or anyone else off.
B: You're complaint of "Why is this US exclusive" tells me that you're not in the US region for game sales. And as far as I know, Aksys is only based in the US, much like Atlus. Asking them to do ports for countries outside of their jurisdiction is, well, silly.Posted 3 years ago # -

is there a posibility that this might come out in the US as a playstation 3 tittle? or is it wisful just thinking?
Sony however didnt accept Disgaea hour of darkness, merely because its 2D. but look at it now, it finally has its greatest hits.
man if this is really Sonys fault then im going to create a petition, and mail them angry letters. and im willingly going to go that far just to get this game.
if Sony did do this, then they are pretty messed up for making their gamelist alittle shorter, this is the next gen, it takes longer to make games, so why would you want to shorten your game list. id say accept every genres of games....except dating sim otaku games.Posted 3 years ago # -
Jake it makes no since to me why we did not get the game other than microsoft paying arc systems to keep the game exclusive for six months in the U.S. You can get the British version of the game in English and the ps3 is region free so you can play that one if you want to. Sony wants as many titles as they can get right now so don't believe the xbots comments that they would not approve it.Posted 3 years ago #

You do realize that Sony of Europe and Sony of America have two compeltely different systems for approving games, right?
I also lol'ed that we're "XBOTS" because we know how SCEA makes it's decisions, and has made it's decisions for years and years. It has nothing to do with liking or not liking Microsoft.Posted 3 years ago # -
Dear sir/madam I'm sorry Sony treated you so terrible over the years but some of us still like the company. Also there is no reason to give this person misinformation about why this game is not available currently in his region. The game industry is all about who pays the most for each release, Sony was on top last time Microsoft is on top this time. It's been this way since the Atari and Intellivison day's, the NES and Master System days etc. Also I realize many Yanks are upset with the price of the ps3 try paying what we pay here in England for the system. Many people feel their game system represents who they are to some degree and take personal offense to others insulting it/them. Don't feel bad though Microsoft has done a good job this time around and I use xbots as a term of endearment for those who feel so passionate about their purchase. You have to admit as you look around the gaming sites on the internet 360 owners are the most vocal and defensive bunch you have ever seen. One friend even went on a 360 fansite to bemoan the first person shooter craze and received death threats from the other guests. I'm glad you enjoy your 360 and maybe one day you might like the ps3 as well until then cheers and good gaming.Posted 3 years ago #

I'm not "feeding misinformation". Nobody but Aksys knows why they didn't translate the PS3 version, I was just offering my own hypothesis as to why they hadn't.
And SCEA DOES have an archaic method for selecting games to allow for translation. IT's the reason that Working Designs went under as a company; they wanted to bring over Legend of the Mystical Ninja and Growlanser games, but the games were all 2D and SCEA wouldn't approve them. Working Designs fought with them to allow them to publish the games in the US, SCEA didn't give in, WD ran out of money and now we're out a game publisher. SCEA is FAMOUS for this kind of activity.
SCEA also gets their panties in a bunch over other completely ridiculous things. Atlus' Arcana Heart fighter had to have all the voices in the story mode removed because of SCEA policy, because SCEA wouldn't approve the game if it didn't have English voices in the story section, despite the fact that English text was right there on-screen. That's direct from Atlus themselves, too, so don't try to pass it off and say it wasn't SCEA's fault.
And I have no idea where you're pulling this mysterious "Oh you just hate Sony" thing from, I don't own a PS3 because I don't feel the games on it are justified by the cost, there were only two games on the system I even vaguely wanted to play, and one of them was an import of Battle Fantasia(Which I know have in English for a system I already own). I don't choose my systems by some ridiculous notion of "company loyalty", I choose which systems to own based on what games are out for the system and which ones I most want to play. So I'd kindly ask of you to cease referring to me as if I was some -your mother is a classy lady- internet denizen Microsoft fanboy, because it's really insulting.
I also lol'ed at your reason for why XBox fanboys are "worse" than other fanboys, I hope you realize that every group of console fanboys are pretty much exactly like that. I've seen death threats given out over insulting Pokemon games.Posted 3 years ago # -
"And SCEA DOES have an archaic method for selecting games to allow for translation."
Unless you have some time working at the company in that position, its pure speculation no matter what.
Oh and the phrase "allow for translation" is misleading and somewhat archaic as well.Posted 3 years ago # -
Then how do you explain the multiple reports direct from game publishers giving that exact reason for why they weren't able to publish "x" game?Posted 3 years ago #

And SCEA DOES have an archaic method for selecting games to allow for translation. IT's the reason that Working Designs went under as a company;
:D Ah, you are being pretty kind to Wanking Designs and putting a little too much faith in Vic Ireland. WD had an awfully large hand in their own demise. I'm sorry but a title like Goemon was going to do little to right the ship.
That being said, I do have to agree about the bizarre selection process. I don't believe I can, or will, cite where my info came from, but I have been told of more than a handful of titles that were blocked by SCEA. It was pretty infuriating considering what is allowed to come over at times and the exceptions that seem to be made. I wouldn't necessarily call it archaic, but I would dub it selective and nonsensical.Posted 3 years ago # -
Honestly the way I solved the problem of being able to play it on the PS3, was importing the Japanese version of the game.Posted 3 years ago #

That sounds a little more accurate.Posted 3 years ago # -
Honestly I'd rather have Castle of Shikigami III's 360 version brought over here than Battle Fantasia brought over at all.Posted 3 years ago #
