I think it was gonna be like Q1 2012 for both, maybe not.
Q1 makes me happy, because they don't conflict with the Q4 blockbusters. It aggravates me to have to buy all my games for the year in the span of a couple of months. Right now I'm interested in when we get to find out what's in those Special Editions. My collector senses are tingling!
I imagine the Fate/EXTRA one will be just like the ones released in Japan only minus the Saber figurine.
Very cool, good to hear that they will have LE. Cant wait to find out what we will get with them.
Aksys you have just become my favorite publisher of niche titles! Thank you all for bringing so many great games into the western market!

It's seriously refreshing to see you guys say this about your games while we get the complete opposite with other publishers 'there will be no Japanese audio blah blah blah...' Not to say I hate dubs in english, but being the avid VN player and anime watcher it's just not the same.
Will probably get a collectors/special edition and the psn version of Fate/Extra just b/c I can't wait for the game to arrive.
I agree completely with the person who made this thread. I was amazed when I read that Aksys was releasing not just one, but two niche titles for the PSP. The PSP is one of my favorite consoles so the dwindling support for it has been very disheartening. While I'm fairly sure that the otome game will not appeal to me, I have seen a bit of the FSN anime and familiar enough with the franchise that I will probably buy Fate/Extra.
Also, this has given me hope that eventually we will see a localized version of Valkyria Chronicles 3. Fingers crossed because I love that series. *hint hint nudge nudge* XD

Don't mind that at all. Lately, english dubs have been getting rather bad.
No idea what Hakuoki is about, so unsure if I'm getting that one, but Fate/Extra is something I'm sure to pick up.
Way to go Aksys

I'm fine with there being no dub, I'm just thrilled we are actually getting the game at all. I am curious why there is no dub, though. Is this that much of a gamble that putting a dub would be too much or did they just think it would be better without a dub? I loved the dub for Blazblue, so I know Aksys can do great dubs.
Again, it doesn't matter, just curious. I hope this sells well. <3

Cut costs? Release them before the Vita is in full swing? Those are my guesses.
I'm overjoyed with the news of the release of Fate/Extra. While many people would have liked a dubbing, I think that a risky project like the release of not one, but two niche titles would be better to be as cost effective as possible. It is a great start to at least get these games released here. Something that I think would be difficult for other companies to even consider.
I can't wait to listen to Chiwa Saito as Caster again. She sounds so different from Taokaka in it.
If the PS Vita is backwards compatible, I will be able to stick a sweet collection of games in it. If not, they will still go into my PSP!
I'm okay without english dub, but I wish we could have unsubtitled voice acting like in battles, be subtitled.
We could have a little corner dedicated to translating those lines.

It looks like Sony has condemned backwards compatibility in favor of moar graphics.
All I gotta say is that there better be a Limited Edition to Fate/Extra or else I'll be a pissed n___a. That is all.

Are you sure she's in it? Extra's supposed to not really be in the same reality as Stay Night. Siliconera has an article that says, "It seems Fate/Extra isn’t going to be canonical. Instead, it’s an alternate re-telling of the Seventh Holy Grail War with some old and new characters."
Also, I think I heard Vita is not backwards compatible, but you can download PSN games. So you still have a choice with your handheld. XD

Wow. Demanding much? I'm kind of overwhelmed here. I'm sad to see that fans can't just be happy that a niche game is being brought over.
Last I heard, NGP is technically backward compatible - but will not have a UMD drive. Only PSP games bought on PSN will be playable. I do recall Sony saying that publishers will be allowed to re-release PSP games on the new media used by NGP - but have also heard that the new cost structure and publishing terms are NOT publisher-friendly, and particularly unfriendly to small and niche publishers.... as is consistent with the Sony MO.
So, chances are small we will see (m)any niche PSP games re-released on a physical media for NGP... but if you buy the PSN release you should be able to still play it on your NGP.
Things may have changed since I got my info, but that's what was up last I knew.
Chiwa Saito is Caster in EXTRA, in the anime Caster was Atsuko Tanaka. Also it's been repeatedly pointed out that YES THERE WILL BE A LIMITED EDITION FOR FATE/EXTRA I think it's been pointed out in every EXTRA topic so far.
Made this account just to say how thankful I am for Hakuouki, if I could support it more then I would. Really loved the game, got all endings except for Kazama's good ending but I'll get it eventually :D Thank you Askys for picking up this game <3
