This is a question about localizations. I'm curious about details of difficulty and copyrights, licenses and permissions from the original copyright holders/owners. So, since there was an interesting discussion about the details of linguistic accuracy (or even fidelity) versus a localization, I thought I'd ask a different question that relates to your job just as much.
Games you have brought range in types of localization. BlazBlue retains the original Japanese voices, but also adds English voices. Those two must cost something. I'd assume translating the script, paying the actors, a studio and other details must be expensive. Adding to that, translating AND doing a proper localization for the text we get to read must also cost something. In the cases of Arcana Heart 3 and Battle Fantasia, it was just text. In the upcoming case of Fate/Extra and Hakuouki, those are text heavy games that as you said will only come with English text and the original voices. I'm curious about how difficult it is for you to obtain rights, etc. to do your job. Please note that I'm not asking about specific quantities. I'd assume that's sort of like a company secret of yours. My question can be easily answered by saying "high cost", "low cost" or "it's a pain in the butt".
Well, I hope you can answer that.
