   Dangerous at both ends and crafty in the middle.

   I hope there isn't already a thread about this (I couldn't find one), but Bo and I were talking the other day about a cast for a 999 movie—if such a thing were to ever exist. These are our ideas, but feel free to suggest your own!

   WARNING! THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!

   I AM SUPER SERIAL GUYS, IF YOU READ THIS THE GAME WILL BE SPOILED FOR YOU, FOREVER AND EVER.

   Ace: Liam Neeson
   
   I can't think of anyone who can do a better job of playing both a friendly older father figure and a frightening and dangerous psychopath. Except possibly Michael Caine, but Liam has a look that's much closer to Ace's.

   Snake: Kenneth Choi
   
   Admittedly, this choice is a little bit of a reaction to Clover's: She's Asian, so he would kind of have to be too, given that they're siblings. I just saw him in Captain America, and although he isn't in it too much, he does a pretty good job.

   Santa: Andrew Garfield
   
   Yes yes, I know, Spiderman, but I think he looks like the kind of guy who could play an tortured, insufferable d-bag. Just look at him, judging you.

   Clover: Ellen Wong
   
   She'd need a wig, obviously (who wouldn't) but I think think she can do a fairly good job being bubbly (see: Scott Pilgrim) as well as utterly terrifying.

   Junpei: Michael Cera
   
   I know there'll probably be some hate for this kid (and yes, I know I picked two people from Scott Pilgrim) but take a look at the game: Junpei is kind of a dork. Like, a huge dork. Obviously he's cool too, but I think Michael Cera would work great for him. Can't you just imagine him saying "What's up with my face?"

   June: Hayley McFarland
   
   You may know her (as I do) from Lie to Me, where she plays a somewhat younger character (I think she's supposed to be 16?), but the actress herself is 20, which is just about right. She's a good actress, and I think she's got the right sort of look for June.

   Seven: Mickey Rourke
   
   Just look at him.

   Lotus: Monica Bellucci
   
   Middle-aged woman (she's 47)? Check. Ridiculously hot? Check.

   9th Man: Steve Buscimi
   
   Admittedly, he wouldn't be in the film much, but with a nice wig and some glasses, I think Steve would be perfect.

   Anyway, let me know what you think! I'd love to know how you guys see some of the characters in 999.

   As alternates, I think Demi Moore as Lotus or the Cuban Steve Buscimi, Mark Anthony, as the 9th Man XD

   This thread is full of win, I lol'd. I can see it in my head, 999 would be such an awesome movie.

   Liam Neeson is definitely the perfect role for Ace, especially after I saw him in Unknown.

   I'm not too sure about Michael Sara as Junpei, however.. I've seen him in too many funny movies to be able to take him seriously in the intense parts of 999.

   I can see where you why you chose this cast, but there's a pretty big problem I'm seeing here. Ethnicity. All of the members in 999 were Japanese with the possible exception of Clover, Snake and Seven. I say this based off of their names. Of course you're talking about doing this in the States so we would have American actors, but still, they should at least be characters that are similar in their skin tone. Mickey Rourke for example is much much lighter than Seven. I figured he would be played by an African American like Tommy 'Tiny' Lister.

   Also Kenneth Choi and Ellen Wong are both from Chinese descent. Which isn't such a big deal in America, but in Japan, having a Chinese person play a Japanese role is a no no.
   I'm not too thrilled about Michael Cera either. He's great for Junpei in the sense of his awkwardness, but he would also have to show genuine fear and anger and tears to play the role of Junpei. Seeing as Michael Cera has only played in comedies, where his fear and emotion was a joke, it's hard to know how he would do in much more serious role like this. Everyone else I'm cool with. I ESPECIALLY like Monica Bellucci as Lotus, and Liam Neeson as Ace. You could also cast Jonathan Frakes. He's a great actor, he already attracts the deeper thinking audience, and he can clean up pretty well for when it shows Ace 9 years ago.
