I recently finished the digital novel/game Deus Machina Demonbane, released by Jast and Nitro, and then I imported the anime for it. The anime did not do any justice. In fact, it killed the series. Metatron and Sandalphon were left out of the anime series, which is horrible because they were awesome characters. Overall, the Demonbane anime is nice way to get your feet wet into the world of Demonbane. Some people will be scared away from Demonbane because of the adult themes and the few hentai scenes.

I highly recommend importing Brave Story, which is based on the book (not the video game) by Miyuki Miyabe. The anime actually captures the majority of the important events that take place within the story. I highly recommend this series because I cannot say a bad thing about the PSP game, the book, or the anime.

Agreed about Brave Story. I love it in all its iterations. Be it book, anime movie, or game. If you're into the occasional fun, relaxing, and laid back rpg, the game is a pretty great addition to the franchise. Also, it has a cute catgirl. :)

Finished Azumanga Daioh yesterday, such a good show. I love Osaka! Time to give Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu a try.

One of the more impressive features of the game was the lack of load times. Between battles, there was no load time, just the transition to and from the battle screen and world. Also, the character designs are nicely drawn and original.

So the order for Amagami SS+ was confirmed a little while ago, it's basically reverse order of how it went in Season 1 except swap Sae and Kaoru. Also personally I LIKE that it's a sequel, I would have liked to see them give routes to some of the other girls in S1 (especially Hibiki and the Teacher) but focusing a little on the relationships is good. I mean I don't think it really matters if we already know how they end up down the road since that's not really the point of this season, to try and make you wonder if they will stay together or not.

If you liked Azumanga Daioh try out Cromartie High. It's basically a guy version of Azumanga. The humor skews towards parody though. It's also a little weirder, because one of the classmates is a robot called Mechazawa, another is a Freddie Mercury lookalike, and another is a Gorilla.

This scene was used as advertisement on DVDs when it first came out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHFySGxccKc

Yeah I know. This is one of the few shows I would not want to watch subbed. They just nailed it in English.

Tried watching Fate/Prototype, stopped after 1 minute due to the incredibly horrible subs... There doesn't seem to be ANY alternative subbing groups. Also caught up to the latest ep of Carnival Phantasm(Finally), my long awaited 4th season of Zero no Tsukaima. ^^

For me, some dubs do a great job and are entertaining to watch, such as "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya." While others, can't seem to hit the mark, such as "Bleach." If I compare the two versions to each other, it's almost very easy to hear and see how much work a company puts into their projects.

    ~Haruhi~
I know that they have to change some lines to match up to the mouths, but to dub a song in english is rather impressive nyaa.

    ~Bleach~
Despite having some well-known voice-actors, I feel that the English dubs actors (or in some cases, choice of words) doesn't quite have the same feel/impact as the Japanese version. As a example, Nnoitra of the English version, doesn't sound as...psychotic as the japanese version.

I actually thought the song sounded kind of terrible lol. When it comes to music in anime that's the one thing that I always prefer the original. I did like the Haruhi dub though.

Music wise...somewhat falls in the same category nyaa.

BoA, a Korean artist that I love, sings both english and japanese (as well as korean and chinese.)

One of Inuyasha's ending songs, "Every Heart: Minna no Kimochi," is one song I prefer her Japanese Audio version. However, "Mamoritai~White Wishes~," the opening to the upcoming Tales of Graces f, is another song by her that I prefer the English Audio.

Watched Episode 1 of Mouretsu Space Pirates earlier (I dislike calling it "Bodacious Space Pirates") and it's got potential to be really good. It's gonna be 26 Episodes which is good, and from what I've heard that the light novels it's based on has very little in the way of "normal" fanservice, and a lot of "Spaceship" fanservice. So you know, Outlaw Star like designs!

    Hacker:

I'll support the fact it doesn't have regular fanservice that much, but instead, long detailed descriptions of the ships.

It does have small bits and pieces of fanservice here and there though. But in the anime, they're like only a frame long. So yeah, it's there, you just have to look.

I've got the first three volumes of the novels so....
Planning on grabbing the rest when I have some cash to spare.

Been watching Touhou anime videos nyaa. In particular... Fantasy Kaleidoscope~The Memories of Phantasm~.

The first video is quite a work of art nyaa. ~Perfect Cherry Blossom episode~

And apparently...a second video is in the works. The second video seems to focus on Subterranean Animism. ~Preview~

Looking forward to the next one nyaa.

That reminds me, ufotable was supposedly working on some Touhou anime thing but other then the announcement and some trailer I don't think we've heard anything in a long time.

Also another FUNImation chanel show I've been watching is Chrome Shelled Regios. Like a lot of anime it's based off a series of Light Novels, it's also got a manga adaptation and a spin off but only like 5 chapters of the manga have been translated so I couldn't make any comparisons to how the anime adapts things versus how the manga does it. It's 26 Episodes, and I'd say I'm about halfway through? (like I said, I watch these things once a week and overtime you loose track of where you are). It's pretty good, though at the same time lacks a lot of explanations/details for stuff that I'm sure the novel goes into.

Daily Lives of High School Boys Ep 1 is out, it's mostly the preview episodes with one or two new segments mixed in, next episode looks like it will be the rest of the preview episodes and then we hit new content. Does this matter? no! because this show is HILARIOUS. Though the dudes who did the ED got in trouble because the bands lead singer insulted Yui Horie and then later took the message down so you know, all sortsa backlash.

Also finished re-watching Amagami in preparation for S2. Rihoko's arc really is the weakest one, I mean it does some interesting things but it's ending is just...so annoying! Tsukasa on the other hand is still as wonderful as ever and is really one of the best arcs of the series IMO
