I was fond of "Sigma and Phi and Tenmyouji and Quark and Alice and Yotsuba and Dio and Luna and K are All Trapped in Weird Place! Oh No!" Oh hey, just noticed, the avatar for the creator or host of this game is a white rabbit. White Rabbit, Alice... Maybe I'm reading too much into it? XD
But yeah, I think Good People Die is the best name for it. I wish they would drop "Extreme Escape Adventure" from the title though, sounds very B-movie xD

I think that was actually part of the Japanese title for 999 also. "Extreme Escape Adventure: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors." Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

No, you're correct. A lot of Japanese games tend to have long names (or at least they get long once you translate all the kanji...-_-).
Personally, I agree that "Good People Die" would be the best localized name.

Being connected to 999 wouldn't even have anything to do with it in that case, hell I wouldn't need to know a single thing about it... if I saw a game called "Good People Die" on the shelf at a game store I don't think I would have any choice but to automatically pick it up.

I'm sure the name recognition would help since 999 was a big success and all. If I was a customer who enjoyed 999 and saw 999: Good People Die on the shelf, I'd probably end up getting it.

Personally, I agree that "Good People Die" would be the best localized name.
For some reason I thought "Extreme Escape" would work better... Something about "Good People Die" just sounds way too... engrish I guess :/ Although in the above examples, using 999 in the title seems to work well (and lets people know it's a sequel, if they aren't up to date on their games).

I have a problem, because I'm an European. I'm leaning towards getting a Nintendo 3DS. First, it is apparently region locked. Second, 999 never got an European release. I reckon this means that even if you release Good People Die (I'd like that name) in America, I won't be able to play it on my European system. I don't like the idea of importing all my games, so getting an American system is pretty much ruled out.
So do you think there's any chance of making the game region-free? At least I've read some hearsay about Xbox 360 games that seem to have this feature even if the system is region locked. Or do you know if there's any European publishers who could be interested in publishing it, even if the DS prequel wasn't released? Aksys seems to be the one to do the translation, so I'm not sure if it can be distributed to other regions easily.
If it's not possible to play the game normally, I'd need to resort to flash cards or something. Maybe buy the game, but play a rom version instead of the real game card. Which sound stupid. :P
This problem can be solved by getting a Vita instead of 3DS, but I'm kind of torn between them. Especially as a 25th Anniversary Zelda edition is coming this month...

I know the DS isn't region-locked, I've got a couple of American DS games myself. But the 3DS is apparently region-locked. And that's why I'm worried that if I choose 3DS over Vita, I won't be able to play Good People Die normally.
Yeah, maybe I should get Vita in the end and not get tempted by shiny Zelda and Mario goodies. It's more probable to get Umineko too, after all. I don't think I have money to get both systems, so it's a choice I have to make. But all my previous handhelds and consoles are from Nintendo! Maybe my hunger for Big N titles will be satisfied with the Wii U...
Out of curiosity, I'd still like to hear what options an owner of 3DS has with Good People Die, though.
That's just how Nintendo is rolling in this generation's handhelds, Bluemail. I don't think 3DS games can be enabled (if that's the right word) to be played on systems in other regions, at least, that hasn't appeared to be possible with any 3DS games released.
It's really up to what titles you're most looking forward towards on each system.

Yeah, it's really a shame that after the open DS we're getting restricted. Guess it can't be helped.
Titles I'm looking forward to... That might be part of the problem I have with choosing Vita. I'm not very well versed with Sony's and other games that are released on Playstation systems mainly. I know I can expect good things out of titles like Luigi's Mansion and The Legend of Zelda, but I haven't played for example any other Final Fantasy games than Chrystal Chronicles (which I did enjoy very much, but I know it's not really similar to the other games in the series). And the current games at the top of my wishlist are being released on both systems (Good People Die, Rayman Origins, perhaps Blazblue).
Many current Vita titles don't catch me like that's something I'd definitely like to try. I guess it'd be a whole new world for me, but I'm sure that even if the current games for it don't ring a bell, some of them will in time and there'll be good games in the future. Just being a bit cautious :D
This is going a bit off-topic, but at least I've made a point how much I'd like to get this game! I don't know yet if it's going to be a shameless ripoff of 999, but I'm expecting better than that.
By the way, after hearing voice clips on the new site, it seems like it shares 3 VAs with Umineko. Alice has Kyrie's voice, Clover Bernkastel/Rika's and the robot guy is Battler. XD

Wait did we get confirmation that Hosoe Shinji is back doing music for this? Does "Team 999" just imply him? I personally think he's pivotal to the theme of these games, so hopefully he is working on this. I haven't heard him say anything about it though... :(
I might already posted this question, I have a feeling someone answered me saying "Yeah he's back" but I can't remember.
Aksys can you guys just please announce you're localizing thing? Pretty please? I'll sleep a little easier :3

OUCH. Damn, now I'm really torn between getting this for vita or for 3DS... Eh, I'm still probably (if Aksys announces it) getting it for the 3DS. However, if by March Aksys announces either they have plans or DON'T have plans I'll be buying a Vita with this imported instead of a 3DS.

The 3DS ones aren't even the correct resolution, but i'm sure you've probably read that somewhere else already since that comparison is old. Anywho, the promotional anime opening Shizuka posted looks great. Love me some animated Sigma and Phi.
