   Overall, I'm very pleased with how Aksys covered Fate/Extra. Not only did they make it possible for the game to be released to an english audience, but the translation itself was good enough to allow me to understand the story.

   For this, I thank you.

   But there was one thing missing. One blemish which prevents me from feeling Aksys made the experience as good as it might've add.

   Most of the japanese voiceovers which occur during combat have not been given subtitled translations... and I think that's a damn shame. They were a significant enough occurrence so that I feel it would have added much to the experience to add subtitles.

   I understand how the japanese game wasn't coded to have these subtitles, and suspect Aksys had only localization assets to devote to the game when they started working on it... but I sincerely believe it would've been worth investing in that functionality.

   If Aksys does take on Fate/Extra CCC as well, I hope this is something they will make happen.

   I don't think I've ever played a sub-only translation that had subbed battles. Part of that is because it distracts from the screen, but also part of it is that the original company might not be interested in going out of their way for the English audience.

   Ideally, though, we'd get a dub.

   Well Aksys are just the translators, subtitles would have to be something the original developers would need to add in, and they may have not felt it worth the time and effort.

   It certainty would had been helpful, would probably cut down the amount of times I got killed by Berserker in week 4 over at Rani's path.

   Indeed nyaa. As quick as some of the battles are nyaa, we'd probably wouldn't have had much time to read the subtitles anyway nyaa.

   For starters, it might be a good idea to recommend the subtitle functionality option for the sequel. It's not like it would not be useful: someone commuting could play his PSP with sound off (in respect to other commuters/lacking headphones) and find the subtitles to be of use.

   There are also other people whom value subtitles for an affirmation of what is being said (we don't always hear everything clearly).

   Then the Aksys translators can in turn swap those subtitle strings for an appropriately translated english quip, like they do in the Arena when Servants quip something.

   Point is, with me having spent 80 hours on the game, I think it would be worth the extra investment.

   Magna's Fate/Extra script made me shiver with antici...PATION! Just when I thought the game's script couldn't be better, it somehow slipped a Rocky Horror mention. Thank you for the awesome localization and script, Magna and Aksys.

   I loved the translation. Speaking as someone who played (read) both Tsukihime and F/SN beforehand, the fact that all of those little subtle (and not-so-subtle) references were kept really made my day(s as it were). It was a nice touch, and not at all unappreciated.
