Amazon, I am disappoint (pre-order delay?)

Well, I was hoping to see an email from amazon.ca confirming my copy of Hakuoki was to be shipped sometime soon, but instead I go to the website and see this on the product page:
"Not in stock; order now and we'll deliver when available" x.x I preordered in early November last year :/

My account page order status says "Not Yet Shipped: Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date. You can cancel at any time."

Fail. If I don't get any updates soon I'll probably go to my local game shop instead, but seriously, amazon sucks when it comes to preorders (this isn't the first time I've had issues with them -_-) Not sure if it would be worth contacting them about it? I know when I first ordered the confirmation did have an estimated ship date.

Does anyone else who ordered from Amazon have their copy shipped or at least with an estimated ship/delivery date?

Dangerous at both ends and crafty in the middle.

This is happening because, until this morning, Amazon didn't have any copies of Hakuoki. The 14th was our ship date, which meant that was the date when we shipped all the copies of Hakuoki out of our warehouse. When Amazon doesn't have any copies of a released title in their own warehouse, their system lists it as "not in stock." What happened here was that there was a period of a day where they considered the title "release" but didn't have any copies—hence no stock, and weird shipping estimates.

They received their copies this morning, though, so they should hopefully be shipping out today.

Data, data, data. I cannot make bricks without clay.

Oooh, so that's how that works. Strange, I figured I had missed out even though I pre-orsdered (and I have had issues with amazon and its preorders before x.x). I'll be watching my email and hoping for the best then. Thanks for the explaination :3

Good to hear they do have some copies then... My pre-order was not shipped either so I came here to see if anyone else had this problem. Is the box set really limited in numbers though, or will there be enough for everyone? I am still worried that Amazon will not ship mine out. Had many bad experiences with Amazon in the past year alone

I pre-ordered mine Oct 13th and I was wondering the same thing. Mine still says "Has not Shipped yet." But I at least have a time estimate of when it SHOULD be in my hands. It says it'll be here on the 17th. All I can tell Amazon is that it BETTER be or I'm taking my pre-order business to GameStop. At least everyone I'VE seen who ordered theirs from GameStop have it already... > v >;;

Gamestop is a horrible, horrible place to pre-order from as well... Or maybe I'm just really unlucky when it comes to this sort of thing XD The 2 times I decided to pre-order a game from the new EB Games that had opened near my house [same company as Gamestop, just in Canada], BOTH times the boxes were opened/tampered with. Seriously? I just can't deal with stuff like that -_-; though I used to go to a EB at a mall on my way to school a few years ago, never really had any issues with them [just so you know I'm not raging against everything here, rofl. maybe it's just a recent issue. That and re-shrink-wrapping used games...]

Anyways, I don't think the situation on Amazon got any better, now the .ca product listing says "Temporarily out of stock" instead of "Not in stock" ... Amazon, that's it, we're done, this was your last chance to redeem yourself! LOL
It was bad enough I had to kill my pre-order for Devil Survivor 2 from Amazon too, if I knew this would've happened I'd've just kept my pre-orders offline *sigh* x.x

*sigh* It just doesn't seem as if pre-ordering ANYWHERE is safe these days... o n o I guess with GameStop it depends which one and WHO is handling your merchandise. I've yet to see many complaints on the GameStop pre-orderers for Hakuouki, but then again I haven't seen the WHOLE crowd. I just checked my order a minute ago, still says "Not yet shipped." It SAYS I am to have it by the 17th. So if it doesn't ship out tomorrow, well then I'm just contacting them and demanding some answers because that would seem ridiculous as I have the one-day shipping option and their shipping estimate would, by then, be misleading... o n o

Kind of wish Overstock would have been a preorder option for Hakuouki. As in the past when I was an Overstock.com shopper, I had NO issues with their services. OTL

What's kind of sad is that I saw that KMart, Target, and a couple other places also had it up for pre-order. Makes me kinda wish I went with them. :<

Actually, that might have been the better idea if you ordered somewhere around December. I was scrolling Tumblr yesterday and I saw that a few people were having this "Out of Stock" issue. Seems there were SO MANY pre-orders for the game in-between the moment it was available and somewhere in December, that there were more orders than the quantity of games Amazon actually received. Because I've seen people on Tumblr who've ordered as far back as December and Amazon says "Out of Stock" for them and theres up to a 4 week waiting period at the longest for a new shipment(according to my friend's boyfriend who checked last night).

One girl on Tumblr said she called Amazon and a representative told her over the phone "First come, first serve." Which leads to my speculation above. Apparently the game sold THAT well. Which is not too surprising as it has been one of Amazon's Best Sellers for a while now. Mine just shipped today and I should have it tomorrow. I ordered way back in early October, so I guess I should consider myself lucky to have gotten one of the available copies. OTL I hope everyone who ordered a lil late can still get theirs soon. As happy as I am to have mine on its way to my doorstep, I feel bad some people won't get it as early. Q A Q

Wow that's great to hear it do so well! It shows that there is still a market for PSP games, and that the region WAS ready for visual novels, including otome. Can't wait to hear in a couple weeks on how well it's done! I know real numbers aren't allowed to be mentioned, but even a "it did well" or "it did very well" is satisfying enough to hear.

AMEN! The states, Canada, and all the other english speaking regions have BEEN ready to get their hands on these games. I am ESPECIALLY glad the first DECENTLY translated one to be imported was Hakuouki~! <3 There's just this thing about old day japan that's just so appealing to me. I've come to love stories set in historical periods mixed with elements of fairy tale and fantasy~ <3

Hakuouki EXPLODED on release day. And I mean it started with a bang and then some. People on tumblr were spazzing, posting pictures, even some were raging at amazon for not shipping fast enough. And now during the following two days we come to find that Amazon's limited supply has been completely depleted. I think even GAMESTOP's website states that they are "Out of Stock". I'd say from an early standing point, its been a pretty good success. ;D

It depends on the location, I have been to many gamestop/babbages/funcoland stores in the past, there are shady ones out there, back in the SNES/Genesis era of games, one funcoland i went to was trying to sell a used copy of Chrono Trigger as new, and it was missing half of the sticker on the cartridge

The only two gamestops i go to now, I've been going to for the last 5 years so i know who to trust and who not to trust

I don't know about anyone else but I ordered from Gamestop online in January and got it yesterday even though I chose 5-10 day shipping... o.o

I ordered from Gamestop soon after preorder was announced and I actually received my copy ON the 14th. I live near a number of GameStop stores (about four?), but they've all been a good experience in general for me. The box was shrink-wrapped and in perfect condition, so I was extremely excited when I received it.
I feel bad for all the people that ordered from Amazon, but I am happy that it's selling SO well!!

I'm glad too! Can't wait to hear if it met Aksys' expectations or went above it! I'm hoping to pick up my copy of Hakuoki today, and excited that my Amazon tracking said that my BBCSX CE will be delivered today. A happy day of Aksys support for some great games :D

I'm having the same problem with Blazblue CS Extend. I received a message this morning saying they're waiting for stock and that it'll ship out when they have it.

Speaking of Amazon... I'm sad that they mailed it in a bubble mailer and one of the corners of the box got a little smooshed :( Same thing happened when I bought the Fate CE from Gamestop.com (although BB got a little bit more squished than Fate)... It amazes me that they don't protect their items more when they mail it out... I wonder what Amazon will do if I complain? I really don't want to send it back or anything...

Actually, I think that you should complain about this. There is a place on Amazon.com under the Your Orders section where you can leave packaging feedback. You can rate it, take pictures of your package & item and just explain the situation. I think that this only way this situation is going resolved. Also, I think that you should contact Customer Service about this problem. Because as the saying goes "When you know better, you do better."
