Man, guess i was lucky to receive an undamaged BBCS Extend copy from amazon.
My pre-order was also delayed before. So i e-mailed them 1-2 days later asking when it would be in-stock.
This is what they told me...
"I want to make sure your order gets to you faster. I've upgraded the shipping method to One-Day Shipping shipping at no extra charge."
"I'd like to offer you a $20.00 promotional certificate as an apology for the delay. This amount has been added to your account which you can use the next time you order an item shipped and sold by Amazon.com. I realize that this certificate cannot make up for the inconvenience you have experienced as a result of this situation, but I hope you will accept it as a gesture of our goodwill to you. This credit should be automatically applied to your next qualifying order."
I never intended to rush them. All i wanted to know was when the game would be in-stock.
I guess I got off good. haha.
I must say you did make out well.
(Note, the following post is quite text heavy about my experience with Amazon and a hard drive order I made a couple months ago, it may not be relevant to the discussion at hand and if so, I apologize).
I ordered a terabyte hard drive for my PS3 from Amazon back in September, it was supposed to arrive in October. I e-mailed them, and I got the same copy-pasted response, 'I want to make sure your order gets to you faster. I've upgraded the shipping method to One-Day Shipping shipping at no extra charge.' It then took 2 additional months for them to ship it. After 3 months after I ordered it... it arrived in a manilla envelope.
Luckily, the hard drive works great! The only bad thing is that I ordered it to replace my dying 80 gigabyte hard drive (it would say 'correct hard drive not found' after every other start up on my PS3), and wouldn't you know it, it died the day after it was supposed to arrive. So, unfortunately, I lost a few things I forgot to back up, such as my LittleBigPlanet 1 & 2 data (almost finished acing and collecting everything), Katamari Forever (almost had all the items collected) as well as my couch on my roof in Playstation Home (such great memories).
Needless to say (and to bring a long point home), I was bitter about it, so I had to complain (which I normally would not do, but this was complete -your mother is a classy lady-) for a solid week before they gave me the same copy-pasted response, 'I'd like to offer you a $10.00 promotional certificate as an apology for the delay. This amount has been added to your account which you can use the next time you order an item shipped and sold by Amazon.com. I realize that this certificate cannot make up for the inconvenience you have experienced as a result of this situation, but I hope you will accept it as a gesture of our goodwill to you. This credit should be automatically applied to your next qualifying order.' My gift certificate was for $10 instead.
I fail to understand Amazon, only problem I ever had with them but it definitely forced me to think twice about ordering from them. The killer is that when I ordered my hard drive was that it was 'In Stock.'
By no means am I trying to say anything ill towards you, Ioriya, it is awesome that you scored $20 out of it, I just thought I would share my Amazon story as well. I apologize.
