In an interview on Gametrailers.com posted just a few days ago, Daisuke said that Blazblue doesn't mean they've given up on Guilty Gear. Sadly he did mention a new Overture as his probable focus, but did said that if there was demand for another 2D fighter he would look into that too.
I for one am aching for a new Guilty Gear. A chance to see a new, proper next generation sequel to Guilty Gear would be a dream come true. I know there are some licencing issues, but I think it would be worth it to work it out with Sammy if it meant a chance at another Guilty Gear.
I mean sure, we have Blazblue, and no offense to Aksys, but Blazblue is no Guilty Gear. Not by a long shot.
Anyway. Just wondering if other people out there feel the same way..
Is anyone else excited about the prospect of a new Guilty Gear?

Of course! BlazBlue is great, but it cannot replace Guilty Gear, as they are significantly different. I really like Accent Core, but a new Guilty Gear would be exciting indeed, and would probably get the hype raised for the series.

I'm really happy he's focalizyng on a new "overture".
I love that game, and I think that the sequel, if will eliminate the problem of the first, can become a masterpiece.Posted 2 years ago # -
I actually really liked Overture too, but where Overture was simply a good game, Guilty Gear is one of the, if not the best fighter series ever made.

I loved overture and the only addition I would want in a next installment is anji-mito my fav next to A.B.A and more life bar.

Just think about ONE, simple think: the first GG (the REAL first one, the ps1 GG), was not a masterpiece for many big problems like umbalanced gameplay, low number of playable charachters, etc
Now, GG overture wanted to be a new type of game, it wanted to be a new genre of game, it sholded be for his creator a 3d multyplayer experience as like ggX2 was for 2d.
And it coulded be, but suffered of too many problems (like low number of playable charachters, combat gameplay to be refined etc).
If my supposition will be true, the new overture could be a total masterpiece, as it was GGX in opposition to the first GG.Posted 2 years ago # -
OMG i love GG and want another "2" to come out. I don't care if ot's 3d or 2d I LOVE GG and BB will never be better.

Nice to know that we might get a new overture. It's a shame tha some people didnt give this great game a decent chance but i think its awesome. All i need is to see Chipp and Baiken in the next installment and I'll be satisfied.

As soon as AkSys mentioned on the podcast that Guilty Gear is a seven part series, I immediately became excited. Given the quality of previous GG installments and the quality that was put into BlazBlue, I'd absolutely devour a new Guilty Gear (as long as it's not a hack n' slash, no offense). Do want, do want!

Testament and Johnny or Axl and I'll buy 3 copies of the next installment. The only thing I hated about Overture was it's low health (but that's because storywise people got stronger). The intense battles and army system took GG up a whole notha leva for me. It's stupid that so called GG fans didn't try this game because the whined and complained about how "its not 2D i don't like". If they bought it they wouldn't be so dissapointed about the great gameplay. They did great with the english voices aswell.
(SOL: shut up, shut up, your in my way, drop dead, this about 50% of my energy...TYRANT RAVE!. LOL
Ky: calm down Sol; it's just a player match...)

Sorry Ishiwatari, but Overture...didn't really feel like a Guilty Gear game at all. You can make it a spin-off franchise, but...well, of course, you should probably stick to your roots and what you are best at. Your fans want more 2D fighting brilliance, and they want Guilty Gear X3/Guilty Gear 3: Not Overture, or even add in a new letter; Guilty Gear Z. That way, you can use those high-def sprites for your future GG vs. BB game...whenever we can get around to that (you all know it's coming...it's just a matter of time, really.)

Ha! Daisuke goes buy what he thinks works not what the fans want. If he did that then GG would just be like every other game (witch is exactly what Mori did). This is what makes GG stand out above the rest. True fans wouldn't care what GG comes up with as long as it is a GG game. Daisuke won't listen to those discouraging so called fans. Daisuke wierd and unoriganal design is what he's good at, with good music and good gaming gimmicks on the side. GG2 is a TRUE GG game. It took most of the gimmicks 2D game and transited them to 3D making it (exluding the servent system) basically the same (attacks like "Volcanic Viper" and "Bandit Revolver" were cool to watch transited to their 3D models.). Showing truly what the power of Super Sayain Daisuke can do.
GG X 3 is porn LOL!
and BB VS GG will never happen because right now the current GG characters are so strong they make BB characters look like classy ladies. you would know this seeing Sol's Gear form on GG2 (witch makes "Blood Cain" look like a push over").

Your fans want more 2D fighting brilliance,Well not to put down GG2 but I always thought of GGX and above as fast paist fighting game (to me it's the first game I played close the speed of DBZ). Me and my bro Lucy called this game a "Speed Battler".
Even know GG Isuka never got a good reception (for some reason) to me that's one of the best GG games I've played. Lucy would set 2 CPUs to level 999 (highest) and make a free for all match. Wich to me made it an all out lightning fast war (which LuciferD666 always won because he picked that bloody A.B.A).
Not only did Isuka have amazing gameplay it also had a music style close to GG2 and BB (thanks to Yoshihiro Kazuno) wich was fun to battle to.
To me GG Isuka is a brilliant GG game. (It was hard battling the CPUs at 999 at first...)
and actually my first ever try to a GG game (thought GG sucked at first). It gave me the training I needed to play alot of other fighters (especially Bloody Roar). And even today I go back and have fast battles with my bro over BB (and BB is an good game...).I can't stand "Goku Moroha" F U A.B.A
