I just started playing BlazBlue on my Xbox 360. Something I began noticing is that the game screen is cropped, sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right. Or maybe it's just both. For example sometimes the character name at the top left hand corner, the first letter of the name is not visible. Sometimes, this also occurs on the right side character name as well, for example, instead of seeing the name "Rachel", you see "Rache" When text appears between scenes or during battle on the far left or far right you can't see last or first letters. Was the entire game cropped? I have a 1080p Sharp 37" TV. I have never had a game do this before. Is there something wrong with the disk?
Is BlazBlue Cropped?

Well, I think I solved it. I went into "Scaling Type" under options and it seemed to fix it. What exactly does that setting do? Makes everything a bit smaller?

I noticed this as well on my PS3 copy using a Samsung 1080p television. I blew it off at first but then turned on my TV's option to scan for source resolution rather than just assume wide. As it just so happens, this game is featured in a 768p resolution which as you can see is larger than the norm 720p. Thus the game appears to be cropped when the TV's resolution is set to 720p.

Just be happy you have the scaling option. Mine is cropped and there is nothing I can do about it. I'm hooked up via component cables to a last Gen Insignia TV. I am figuring that is why Is why I don't have a scaling option on my XBOX (my friends have it, but they have 16:9 HDTV's). It just sucks I can't manipulate any screen adjust like a RGB monitor. -_-
But I deal. It just sucks when you can't tell if one of Rachels staffs is in the corner.

I believe there is an option in the "Display Options" menu in BlazBlue itself that should correct this. I've noticed the cropping you're talking about on my TV at home, which is an SD TV with component cables, so I'll try it out tonight and see if that fixes the issue.
EDIT: OK, looks like you guys are a lot more on the ball than I am. I tried it on my TV, and the scaling options is totally absent in the BlazBlue menus. I'm not sure if this is because I have and SD TV, or because I'm using component, or what, but I'll ask around the office tomorrow and see if I can't get the official story.

Sorry, been a busy week.
As of right now, there is no official word about this issue, but I have confirmed it on my own TV and alerted the appropriate people. I'll do my best to update this thread if I learn anything more.

I'm obviously dealing with it. I thought it was my TV. But if someone else is having problems. It is really only a problem if something like Rachel's Tiny Lobelia can be fired off screen, but it can be also fired into a corner. I can't tell sometimes where it lands. I have to memorize it actually. It is just frustrating that the scaling is dependent upon the type of TV you have. (scaling comes with alot of fighting games; Street Fighter 3 had a nice one)
