Hi guys! I'm Shika, I registered today xP I'll do anything to support the localization of japanese games... So now, I present you "AMNESIA", a PSP Otome game.
On one fateful day, August 1, the heroine wakes up (the place is different with each route) not knowing where she is. A magical being named Orion appears before her and explains that she lost her memories, and under his guidance, she must retrieve her memories. Just when she was about to start searching through her daily life, a cell phone which appears to be hers, alerted something incoming. It's 'him' who appears to be her 'boyfriend, a face and name she doesn't recognize. Under an ambiguous situation where she doesn't know who she should trust, the heroine acts so as to not make others realize that she has lost her memory.
Having no recollections of 'him', the heroine will weave a new love story from this day forward.
In Amnesia, the male characters that the female player character can interact with are based on the symbolic suit symbols from a cards deck with the following storylines (commonly known as 'routes') in the game: Heart, Spade, Club and Diamond. Depending on which route is chosen, the player's relationship with each character is different.
From bottom left to top right:
-Heroine (no default name, no voice actor)
-Shin (VA: Tetsuya Kakihara)
-Ikki (VA: Kishow Taniyama)
-Kent (VA: Akira Ishida)
-Toma (VA: Satoshi Hino)
-Orion (VA: Hiromi Igarashi)
-Ukyo (VA: Kouki Miyata)
-Sawa (VA: Hiromi Igarashi)
-Mine (VA: Kana Akutsu)
-Rika (VA: Yoshida Seiko)
-Waka (VA: Takahashi Hidenori)
From my point of view, what really makes AMNESIA different from other Otomes is the fact that it focuses more on the mystery than the romance, so it looks like a suspense, thriller visual novel rather than a romantic otome.
The characters are also very very interesting and sometimes are even unpredictable.
One of the high points this game has is the art and the character design, it's utterly beautiful (For example, this picture: http://static.minitokyo.net/downloads/10/27/576360.jpg )
The soundtrack is also spot-on.
It has two sequels: AMNESIA Later (fandisk) and AMNESIA Crowd (which is being released on April 18th.)
I would also like to note that an anime of this otome is currently airing... though it's not even close to the game, I'd rather having you play the game and then watch the anime.
That's all! Sorry for my grammar mistakes, I'm portuguese, and you're welcome to leave some feedback!
There's a poll about Amnesia in this blog too, take a quick look: http://www.aksysgames.com/forums/topic/1686
