i like both for their uniqueness. the fasted paced battles & variety of moves got me into guilty gear (love he destroyed moves too). the strategy & mechanics got me into blaze blue (and the fact that the same people that made guilty gear made blade blue).
what got u into guilty gear/ blaze blue?

Well for me (GG Isuka being my first) it would be the Speed Battles and weird characters (Bridgets a guy?) design and unique play of GG.
(Fav Chars: Testament Axl and Sol)
For BB I like the character design of attacks even know to me BB is a little unbalanced attack sprites never get old. I also like how Mori was willing to try a game similer to GG.
(Fav Chars: Jin and Tager)

Hmm, I played that shitty little GBA version of GGX. While it was HORRIBLE, I still was drawn to the style, characters, and fighting utilities (cancels, barriers, overdrives, instant kills). When I finally got around to playing GGXX, it was all over. I'm totally in love with this company and their stellar quality of games. Keep it up, AkSys!

A number of years ago, I randomly came across Guilty Gear X in an arcade not too far from my house and my first instinct was "this is different and no one's playing it." Then I played it...
Now here I am.

I started with the original Guilty Gear on PS1. Loved the style and the characters. Gameplay was weird but fun. Stopped playing fighting games a bit for MMOs but now I'm back to my fav gaming genre.

I got interested in the Guilty Gear series back in my early teens and Guilty Gear X2(the very first X2 that starred the first appearance of Slayer,Bridget,Zappa,Robo-Ky, and I-No)was the first Guilty Gear game I played and I have loved the series ever since. But I don't think I'll like Blazblue as much as the Guilty Gear series, so I'll pass on that game.I'm looking forward to the next installment of the Guilty Gear games, which I hope will be soon(as in the next year or two).

What got me in to guilty gear?I saw the game GG isuka on a old magazine review.Well this was when GC was new and ps2 was 1/2 years old. I went to a blockbuster store and and my bro singaki, wanted to get that "it was cool back then" tmnt game. But they were out of stock so he cried, and i saw gg isuka instead.as soon as we got singakis tears turned to laughter and excitement. And for a curious person who saw a picture of sol badguy on a magazine review for GG isuka,I was astounded.I started out with chip in the arcade mode and loved him but everytime it came to baiken or solbadguy i lost and i was starting to like other charcters. We went straight to level 999 on versus and my bro got his eye on testament and liked him(no gay)becuz of his blood like oves and the way he uses his sythe.Since we had played bloody roar before gg all the moves were easy and combos were fast pace and fighting level 999 was like fighting gods who didn't know how to use theyr powers yet. Then i thought that this good of a game should have a story,so i wnt and got the ps2 ggx but no stories. But the game still got me in by the instant kills, the difference in there moves as of now and I new thier had to be some story to the game once i played zato 1's arcade mode and read his losing and winning dialouges with each of the characters. Then I was amazed with GGXX when i heard of it becuz it had a story mode.I loved all the new characters and I liked all the revisions of some attacks. thats what got me into GG.My favs are A.B.A and anji.

I forgot to mention this in my earlier post, but I am now 21 years old(have been since January 28).So I have been a huge fan of the Guilty Gear series for 8 or 9 years now.

Awesome.
It was about 2003 when I first played GG1 on my old PSone (Friend let me borrow it for Christmas :P). It had it's flaws but it had it's charm of my first fighting game, as well as teh in depth characters and awesome looks. Of course, by that time, X and XX were already released, so I went out to look for them and played them too! Of course I played other fighters like SF3A, the KOF series and MvC and related games, but the pace of the GG games was something the other games couldn't even get close to touching. The mechanics and precisions of the GGXX engine is amazing, and it's why I love it so much. It's my kind of fighting game :)

I ran in to a dumpy arcade and in the back they had GG turn off and full of spiderwebs. I ask the dude working there if he could start it up. After playing a while I fell in love with it. Thank god the guy was willing to check if it worked instead of simply telling me "no".

To be honest, the heavy metal vibe and the fact that ky and sol remind me of a couple of people i know XD.

I saw fanart of Chipp and Anji years ago, remembered them when I went into a Blockbuster and saw the original GGXX for sale for like $10, bought it on a whim and fell in love with it immediately. As for what exact qualities made me like it...I'm not entirely sure. It's some combination of the artstyle, the music, and the way the gameplay flows. It just felt -right-.
