It's nice to see that you're releasing it here, but I hate that you're only doing a PSN release. I would have bought a copy if it was a regular release, but I hate digital distribution. I refuse to buy any game that is released only through digital distribution. I guess I'll be importing the European version.

Is that information accurate? The original Japanese game had lots of DLC which required the PSN connection, but it was a BD-based game (I know, I bought a copy while I was there). I would happily buy it on disc again to get an English translation of the text (But PLEASE keep an option for the original voice acting!!!), but I'd be a bit hesitant to download a whole BD's worth of game to my hard drive... I'd probably wind up importing the English version from Europe.
No disc, no sale.

But think about it...if this was in disc, how many retailers would put it up in display? In front of those innocent children? In front of those niche anime game haters? There are some people who hesitate to buy a certain game at stores just to save face from embarrassment or other things.

I don't think we gotta worry, just like a poster said above, it's not like the game cover has anything bad on it. I'm from over at Atlus forums, and the consensus over there is pretty much the same as here, people want this on disc otherwise they're willing to import it from europe. That's a quite a few sales you'll be missing out on.
I'm not a major in business or anything, so I don't know how they came to this decision but both download and disc have their strengths and weaknesses. I'm willing to bet that they don't think it'll sell well at all here, thus they'd rather pay Sony to put it on their store for download (since the publisher pays per GB downloaded on PSN), they probably think it's cheaper than producing all those disc since I believe you have to print a certain minimum.
I think Aksys might be underestimating this game a little bit, while people like me who love SRPGs in general is getting it for another SRPG to play, there are others out there that will get it just because of its content, which I believe everyone knows what I mean by that.
I hear the battle system and the music is pure awesome, the graphics from what I seen might not be anything groundbreaking, but SRPGs in general never really have been that way much. Really SRPGs are more like a "Fancy chessboard".
I know I already posted before in this, but hopefully Aksys reconsiders this. Do they even read the forums here?

This is another reason I'd want the release on disc. Bleah. I really, really don't want download to be my only option. When is the European release coming out, anyway? That one IS hitting disc, right?

Wow, that soon? I'm going to go check Amazon UK and find out what the features are. If they have dual language, I'll go buy that now. No sense waiting for a download-only version when I can get this in about a month.

Okay, checking on Ghostlight's page (They're the ones doing the European release) not only are they getting a retail release, they're getting a collector's edition!

Come on, Aksys! Give us the goods! I ordered that 15 dollar BlazBlue artbook! I picked up the game first day! I've bought lots of games from you guys... isn't that good enough? Can't we get some juicy extras here in the States, too? C'moooooon! Don't make me import this, give us a good limited edition package!

Ah I just checked, and it seems they pushed back the release date? I swear I remember it being listed for release in august.

It was, but it was pushed to October. I'm not even sure if that is even a solid date.
I've decided I'm not gonna import this game. I'm all about digital distribution and I'm ready to leave discs in the digital dust.
However, considering that this is a quite a large amount of memory used in PS3 systems, I'd think it'd be best to make at least have a handful of discs available for N.A. gamers. Is that feasible?
Check out the first post by Hiryuu on the article about this. He brings up some interesting points.
