So, continuum is supposed to be coming to the Japanese arcades sometime in the near future, apparently, and I was wondering what this means to console players, specifically us in the states.
I know Arcsystemworks has a thing for releasing the same game over and over with slight tweaks over short periods of time, but I'm honestly hoping this won't see a console release as a seperate game. I loved the first, but I'm not shelling out full price for more or less the same game.
I was wondering what everyone else's opinions are on this, and if anyone at Aksys has some sort of stance on the situation.

As much as I would prefer a DLC upgrade to Continuum, I don't find it very likely. There are at least 5 more characters from the story mode that could be included besides Tsubaki. At the least, a new final boss from the events of the "true ending".
Kokonoe, Mikoto (chipmunk girl), Jubei, and Valkenhein are all possilibities as well (i hope). I hoping that there are at least 4 new characters.
Also, there would be a bunch of new voice work for the story modes, which I'm sure will be entirely new.
A patch would likely be too large for them to even consider, not to mention another disk would be more money for them.

Yeah...all the changes being made to the characters and the new characters being added pretty much rules out any and all chances of this being DLC.

While it's true that it's unlikely to be DLC, I base this more on Aksys' stance that pumping out several iterations of the game is the best way to make money, than on the idea that the data files would be too big for DLC. One need only look at the gigs of Fallout 3 DLC to see that there's really no limitations on it, and the success of said DLC to see that people don't mind.
If Aksys did a sudden 180 and decided that downloadable content was the way of the future (and it is.) then they could likely make it work. But as was said ... it's probably not going to happen.

So it seems that Terumi(as Hazama) will be the other character they are adding.I really want to know if he will be weaker because he's fighting as Hazama.Or will he be using all his power.

After a little research, it looks like Continuum Shift is a sequel instead of a "Super BlazBlue" kind of thing.
Guess that means it's definitely a separate release. Oh well, I'd rather buy a sequel than buy the same game again.Posted 2 years ago # -
So...wait.
Even though there has been no change to the actual content of the new release, if it were labeled as an "expansion" you would have been mad about it, but because it's labeled as a "sequel" you're fine with it? Do you realize how ludicrous that sounds?
It's like the people complaining that Super Street Fighter 4 should be called Street Fighter 5. It has the same content either way, why does it matter what it's called, and why is it suddenly acceptable if they call it one thing instead of the other?

Well hopefully, being billed as a sequel implies a new story mode, new arcade mode endings, and various other non-gameplay elements added. As opposed to Super Street Fighter 2's 'story' of 'Oh this happened too'. Hopefully.
At least, that would be the reason the word 'sequel' would chill me out. Beyond that, I got nothing.

I'm a sucker I'd starve myself to buy one. I'm so sorry.

If anyone lives in the New Jersey area, an arcade there has an imported Continuum Shift cabinet which I was able to play. I recommend it to anyone that can make it there.

God no. That ho probably flunked out of the Academy, anyway. Why the devil would you want her?

Added Emphasis in Quote #1: It's Arc System Works doing that. Aksys just brings 'em over here.
Added Emphasis in Quote #2: No. DLC is an absolute scourge overall. It could very well KILL gaming. Gaming continues to climb in price, and DLC is making that infinitely worse. Eventually people are going to stop buying.

Guess that means it's definitely a separate release. Oh well, I'd rather buy a sequel than buy the same game again. No duh! That "True End" on Calamity Trigger is just the game screaming, "HA!! NOW YOU HAVE TO BUY A ****ING SEQUEL FOR ANY OF THIS TO MAKE SENSE!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Honestly, people, you are REALLY missing the mark. BlazBlue has gone in a new and unique direction by being a story-focused fighting game. The reason they're doing a sequel so soon without many new characters (the lack of characters being probably a time constraint) is that they're CONTINUING THE STORY. Now, hopefully the trophies are better this time around.
A WARNING: Unfortunately, the rebalancing of the game is said to be pretty bad. I'm told Jin and Rachey-woo suck now, Ragna's a little better, and Tager is a god. So if Jin's really nerfed bad, I have to use Ragna now instead.
I advertised this game at Momocon, by the way. Talk more about that later. Gotta go for now.

The tier lists say otherwise.More or less. People are liking the re-balance. Top 3 are currently: Bang (yes!), Litchi and Ragna. Rachel's the worst character in the game, with Tsubaki right behind her. But everyone else is pretty fairly balanced. It's better than CT.
