I wonder if the title is going to be a free region game.Posted 4 years ago #

Not on Xbox 360.Posted 4 years ago #

The 360 itself is not a region free console like the PS3 but some games are region free, is up to the publisher.Posted 4 years ago #

I heard Aksys is cutting content from this game too, can anyone confirm if online will remain in the NA version?Posted 4 years ago #

I can assure you that no content has been cut from Battle Fantasia for the US market. The main difference is that the American version has an English localization ;)

Hear that guys? They -cut- all the Japanese characters out of the text!Posted 4 years ago #

Gah, I'm still reeling over the fact there is no PS3 version.
Frikin' BS.
It wouldn't be so much of an issue if Microsoft would just fess up and fix their d-pad.Posted 4 years ago # -

Actually you can play the game in Japanese too ;) And while it won't be region free, it will be playable on North American and Asian (Non-Japanese) Xbox 360s.

I hadn't heard about Battle Fantasia till now ::) .... so I checked some vids over at youtube an it looks plenty o fun ;D
Not exactly next-gen, but fun nevertheless. I just LOOOOOVE fighting games :D
Now I just gotta make my pick: 360 or PS3 :oPosted 4 years ago # -
Is Battle Fantasia only available online or something? My Gamestops don't have a listing for it in their computers for in-store pickup/pre-order. Best Buy doesn't even have it listed on their website.Posted 4 years ago #

I am feeling you. You might be able to import it. I would hope an Admin here could tell you if the jp version works on US ps3 hardware. Also, the D-pad does suck on xb360. I read some news that there was a new controller debut from microsoft at some game conferrence in Europe that looks the same, but has working 8 way D-pad. Also for those XB owners out there gearing (no pun) up for Battle Fantasia, Call around to your local Gamestops, and inquire if they have hori EX2 arcade sticks that were re-released when Soul Calibur IV came out (i managed to snag two of them). I don't even have a 360 yet, I was planning on buying it when I bought Battle Fantasia. But the hori sticks are usb, and also work on my computer..making M.A.M.E. a dream.Taygeta Wrote:

This is a good question..and the reason I initially signed up for this forum. I went to several Gamestops (shudders), and only on one occasion did they "kinda" confirm it was in their system. It isn't on their upcoming releases, and the person who says he saw it in the system said it did not have a release date. They don't know anything about it because it isn't a top tier game. IGN has a count down for the game that coincides with aksys's release date. So what is the scoop Aksys? Any suggestions on where to buy this game? This is a system seller for me. Battle Fantasia ships on September 16th and should be in stores soon after that.
Gamestop has informed us to tell everyone that if you want to pre-order Battle Fantasia to ask to pre-order it using a generic SKU. That should solve your pre-ordering problems.
Thanks, guys!

This and Yggdra Union PSP are coming out on the same day.
I'm torn as to which I'm going to play first. :( I may have to take the day off.Posted 4 years ago # -
:( It wasn't in the stores yet.
You guys need to get faster shippers. I was all set to tear some shiz up as Deathbringer.Posted 4 years ago # -
Oh man, this flew right under my radar. Do want, except...

I thought Asian 360's were NTSC-J region, same as Japanese 360s.
...Am I wrong, or is there something else that's locking imported JP 360's out from the US version? Hope not, I intend to import a 360 since most US 360 games seem to be NTSC-U/C/J. It'd be a shame if this was one of the few NTSC-U/C only releases... :(Posted 4 years ago # -

There are 4 main regions when it comes to Microsoft region coding: North America, Europe, Japan, and Asia.
Battle Fantasia (US version) will only be playable on North American and Asian Xbox 360s, and not on European or Japanese Xbox 360s.
Though you can always buy the Japanese version, or the European version when it comes out. ;DPosted 4 years ago # -
So what are my chances of finding this game in a gamestop/eb games somewhere in Raleigh, NC today? ;D
I would have pre-ordered but money is tight and I didn't know if I'd be able to get it at launch or not. Well, now I have the money and I'm afraid I won't be able to find a copy :-[ I can always order online, which I'll do if I can't find it, but I would REALLY like to find this in a store so I don't have to wait. I got lucky with Bangai-O on a Wednesday...so we'll see.Posted 4 years ago # -
I tried ordering Battle Fantasia here in Jacksonville, FL but Gamestop wasn't taking reservations for it. I just checked the GS website and no store within 100 miles has it in stock. Ok, that is just wrong! I know I could order it off the website but when you add shipping costs it makes it almost a $60 game. People should not have to go thru this much trouble for something they would like to purchase. Since we don't have Game Crazy here I guess I will just have to keep haunting GS, Target & Wal-Mart in the hopes that one of them will get it. Crossing my fingers I won't have this much trouble over GG2:Overture.Posted 4 years ago #

I broke down and just ordered the game off Amazon today. I got tired of calling and driving around to stores looking for the game. Hopefully I won't have to get Theresia this way.Posted 4 years ago #

Akselziys, with all due respect I think you're a little off-base, or talking about different regional differences than I am?but I'll quit pestering you until I can get my hardware and try it. If it works, sweet; if it doesn't, I take it back and order one of the versions on Play-Asia. ;)

The same thing happened to me with Shiki 3. I ended up ordering it at a local shop since no one had even heard of it at GS...though go figure, it magically appeared there a week or so after release. (Funnily enough, the local shop didn't get my copy in until a few days after I saw it staring me in the face at GS. THAT was frustrating.)
If you're determined to get it there, keep waiting, because if they're a big enough store they'll get copies. If not...well, shipping's free on Amazon.Posted 4 years ago #
