The only thing I remember is that I beat the boss in a futuristic city, the one where it's rainy

I would have prefered some strong enemies with a low/medium encounter rate then a bunch of weak ones with an insanely high one. I appreciate what they were going for, and the scenery is amazing and the idea behind everthing is great, except for the gameplay itself.
In other news, the P4 Golden Trophy List is out now. Seems the new character MAY have a Dungeon after all.
Now that I have a working copy of Magna Carta 2, I'll be playing that on the 360 till Akai Katana comes next week.

After playing it a bit, Magna Carta 2s battle system somewhat reminds me of FF12s. I'm curious how the first one played.
Been playing Demon's Souls since the online is going away so soon. Trying to get as much of my experience with the online intact as possible. Not gonna be able to beat it in time, but I'm still trying.

As for the Atlier series. The recent ones for PS3 are pretty good. They're charming games that really REALLY sticks to normal JRPG conventions. Don't expect anything groundbreaking from them, is what I would say.
Although the Atelier series in general has always had a huge emphasis on synthesizing. That's usually the core gameplay of the games. You'll probably spend more time on the synthesizing screen than anywhere else. Some of the Atelier games (like Atelier Iris 2) had a different emphasis so it just depends which Atelier you wanna know about.
I'd say you should reconsider. Like I said before, this series is a charming series. It's fun to play, and the synthesizing isn't obnoxious. Since a large chunk of the series revolves around this they pretty much did synthesizing right a while back. I actually went a little obsessive on synthesizing in Atelier Iris 2. It was fun pain-in-the-ass-free synthesizing. At least that's what I recall. It's been a few years since I played it.
Plus the music is consistently f***ing amazing.

Back on topic, but picked up Akai Katana and going to start playing in a bit.
Decided to put the full games a rest and try out some demos. The demo for Sniper Elight V2 was a very nice change of pace. Love the bullet time kills. So satisfying to watch. Played the demos for Final Fantasy Type 0 and while I thought the gameplay was okay (not to mention kicking butt as a summon,) I couldn't stop playing Hatsune Miku Project Diva Extend. Took a bit to get accustomed to it, but afterwards, kept playing it, trying to beat my previous scores. I'm likely going to import the PS3 version(s) when I get the chance.

yo, akai katana is ******** hard. hahah. i'ma have some fun with this :3 Also, I should receive dodonpachi in the mail any day now. I got half the skin of my ring finger ripped off, so I can't use arcade stick and have to use a controller too, for the time being. Sucks -___-
Despite Akai Katana being challenging, I found it a bit disappointing you'd earn achievements so easily.

all cave games are like that though. you get an average of 50% for free, the about 10-20% are hell to get. Except for death smiles II; that's just a free 1,000.
i'm still figurin this thing out. I don't understand the system mechanics yet--try to reflect bullets and just die. lol. I've played it twice now; with type 2 I got 7 levels and with type 1 I only got 4 levels...I guess it has something to do with continue usage. My type 1 run was a "I hate school; i'm getting drunk" play.
