Hopefully I'll get one of the 'bad' endings soon tho since that is what the game is known for.

I am on the fence on buying this game and since you seem pretty far in it, what would you rate this game at now on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being Must Have.
In the past I heard some rather strange things about the anime which made me not interested in it at all. But now that the game itself has an official release here in the US, I am reconsidering.
(Just edited this to reflect that I meant to say I heard weird things about the anime, not the game.)

hmm, I'd probably rate it around a 7.5 or an 8. The game is fully animated which is pretty damn cool for a visual novel and there are a lot of endings and choices etc. The story is pretty interesting too, I enjoyed (almost) every part of it. There's a good bit of h-scenes tho, I don't really care for those but I don't know what you're into lol. I would recommend buying it, I have fun every time I play it.

I don't mind H-Scenes but I particularly do not like to play any games with rape, incest, and crazy tortures. X_x Not my thing.
Thanks for the review though!

I wish H-scenes didn't bother me so much. I want to read School Days for the horror endings, but H-scenes just really ruin reading for me. I need to find some way to fix that, but eh.
WAS playing Ar Tonelico Qoga, but got killed in a BS manner and raged quit. Going to play Team Fortress 2 to kill time I think, and then wait for Kai to be released in Vindictus tomorrow.

There aren't that many BAD ENDs though, like people greatly exaggerate a lot of things about School Days based on the anime and what little knowledge people had of the VN. I wanna say all together that out of like 15+ Endings, only 4/5 or so are actually Bad Ends? Like if you just care about the Bad Ends then don't waste your money, just look em up on YouTube.
School Days is more about the characters (and the H, I mean it IS the main purpose of it, whadda ya expect?) so if your not interested in that then I wouldn't bother.
Also if School Days is one of the best you've played so far, then you clearly haven't played the PTSD Simulator that is the MuvLuv Trilogy! now THAT is one of the best Visual Novels I've ever read.

I've been playing Final Fantasy IV. Despite owning the disc from Chronicles for years now, this is my first time actually playing through the game, lol. Been pretty fun so far though. Just whooped on Rubicante, and tomorrow I'm going off in search of extra summons for Rydia.

One of these days I'll play both.

Speaking of Final Fantasy, 13-3 was Officially Announced today. Geuss how the fanbase reacted? yep, acted as if Square just personally committed a horrible crime right in front of them! I also love their logic that clearly no one likes these games, I mean that's why they are at #3, because absolutely no one id interested!

It was kind of obvious 13-3 was going to be made though O.o; And these games aren't THAT bad. I kind of hope they change up the battle system (I personally prefer to be able to control all party members, makes me feel a lot safer), but other than that I'm kind of excited. Not sure where they'll go with the story now though lol.

I greatly prefer 13's system, and I mean 13-2 already made it so that if one leader dies, instead of instant game over you automatically switch to the next one. Controlling the entire party would just kinda defeat the point of 13's Battle System and wouldn't make it any different then a previous ATB System, and then what was the point of creating a new one in the first place? I can understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I appreciate they did something new and more exciting.
The AI is usually pretty good at doing what you want it to do, and you can swap between who you control on the fly so if you ever need them to do something specific you can do that.
The story? well assuming it's the last game in 13's story then I expect it to involve more Lightning, Snow and Noel. There's 2 bonus fragments you can collect after you beat the game from Noel and Serah of "the future" (they appear to be messages left for themselves from some unknown point after the end of the game) so clearly they have more planned for Serah/
As for it being expected? well of course it was, but people are just complaining it's not Final Fantasy XV even though it should be obvious that assuming we do see XV this gen, it wouldn't be for a while. People are complaint happy, they complain about 13-2 ending on a To Be Continued (which admittedly, is kinda annoying even knowing a sequel was gonna happen) but then complain they make said sequel. They also complain it's another 13 entry in general since the Internet seems to believe that 13 is a complete failure for Square that nobody likes (numbers are pretty good honestly, but eh people expect them to be higher or something)even though that while it's certainly a very divided fanbase, it's still pretty well liked by sane people.
Course even if XV WAS announced, people would just complain about that somehow anyway. Nostalgia is a powerful drug, people just refuse to accept that the series is always changing and sometimes it changes in ways they don't like and want everything to be like when they were younger and want more games like FF Z (I'd have used X as a representation of any entry in the series but that would just confuse people with 10) even though they'd complain then they'd complain it's not original anymore/
Bah I've ranted enough, what can I say? I still love the FF series but it's fanbase has left me a cynical and bitter person.

I completely understand what you mean. I'm actually shocked people are complaining about the lack of an announcement for XV. I understand being a little disappointed maybe, but to be genuinely upset is so stupid.
And about how it's constantly changing, that's one thing I truly love about FF. The games are always different. It works for some people, it doesn't for others. I HAAAATE FFXII, I think it did just about everything wrong (other than the license system, I loved it). I seem to be a bit of a minority though. I also dislike FFVII. I understand its importance to FF and gaming, I just think it didn't age well at all.
Can't please most of the fans at all it seems. They're ALWAYS complaining about the next Final Fantasy. "THIS IS RUINING FINAL FANTASY!" Nope, no, nope. You know what is ruining Final Fantasy? The fans. It's like Axis Power Hetalia, the fans give it a horrible reputation.
ANYWAYS! To keep on topic, I found Sonic Colors, so I'm playing that for poops and giggles, and playing the Guild Wars 2 beta.

That changed after I played it more. Still a great game though. I just got caught up in the hype.
Now playing (reading) Steins;Gate. Pretty great so far.

I think XII did somethings pretty cool, the License System was eh...kinda a neat idea? but terribly executed since it just makes everyone samey and it's annoying that I need to learn a license just to equip a piece of armor. Characters? hit and miss, Vaan? well he was forced into the story and it really shows. I think his character had some decent potential, but they never do anything with him after the first town so it's kinda like .."what was the point of forcing him into the story, if you don't even do anything with him?". Asche was interesting, Basch and Baltheir were great, Fran? yet again, potential is there but all they use her for is fanservice. Penelo? pretty much exists for Vaan to have a love interest.
Gambits? I think they were a kinda cool idea for a different game, but not this one. They take all the fun out of controlling everyone and while I can just turn them off it just makes the game a bit more of a pain.

So how do people feel about the rumor that Final Fantasy Versus XIII has supposedly been cancelled? now me personally? I call BS on this since it's a Kotaku article, and they are known for making -your mother is a classy lady- up just to get hits. I want some reliable and SOURCED information, not some BS assumption because SE supposedly never responded to an E-Mail.
I've also seen two posts from two reliable people in the industry (not that I expect anyone to just instantly believe they are reliable, but I mean at the same time I also expected people to not mindlessly believe a stupid article but I was wrong about that) who claim the article is BS and that SE is working heavily on Versus.
It's taken a while for the game to come out, but I mean let's be honest here, it's not the first time a game has taken a very long time to come out. Duke Nukem Forever, Starcraft, L.A. Noire are just a few examples of games that had really long dev cycles and that people claimed would never actually happen. Sure DNF sucked, but hey it's just an example of a game that came out and not an example of quality.

Just purchased Bastion and the soundtrack for it. I dunno how anyone could NOT purchase the soundtrack

Hmm...I pre-ordered Darksiders 2 some time ago (as promised, since Gamestop was able to get me that LE for RoAW1,) but never really played the first one...and with that said, I'm going to start playing the first Darksiders.

Today is a glorious day, someone has finally managed to slay the Mighty Beast known as uRGP and is translating MuvLuv: Altered Fable. It's not a perfect workaround, but it's good enough and it means more MuvLuv to read so all is well
