I'm in support of this.
Just don't butcher it to hell to make it unappealing to it's target audience the way ubisoft did part one.
I'm sure if they would have kept the original cover art and not renamed it to wartech it would have done shitloads better.

Makes me wonder, if they plan of throwing in a couple of new characters... making Lili playable would be VERY nice.

I'm supporting this too. Aksys should be the new shmup publisher.

Exactly what I was thinking

Would be interesting to hear if Aksys picked this up!
I have mixed feelings on the first game. I have a feeling that there's a wonderful game somewhere in there, but it's a bit dense. The game doesn't immediately make it clear how it wants you to play it. Since there's not really much else out there to compare it to, beginners are totally lost. Combine that with the packaging of the US release: too generic to draw in a new audience, generic enough to alienate the target audience... kind of a mess! Not surprised that it didn't do too well. A game like this would benefit so much from the Blazblue pack-in DVD treatment, or even instructional videos on PSN or XBL.

I agree that the first game was handled very badly by Ubisoft. It should have been handled as a fighting game than a war shooter, and Ubisoft was the wrong publisher for the job. I also think that G-Rev should have made Senko no Ronde a Wii game from the beginning.

Now what made you think of it as a Wii game? I wouldn't really see it work out... unless it doesnt really involve pointing or motion...
The first game was initally designed for Dreamcast, but since the Dreamcast is almost non-existent, they had to move it onto one of the next gen consoles.
Well, the fact it's one of the very few VS. Shmups. The only others that really come to mind is SNK's Twinkle Star Sprites (and to a lesser extent, Touhou Project 9 "Phantasmagoria of Flower View").
Senko no Ronde takes the genre a step further by making it feel a little more like Virtual ON (the rounders even have melee attacks).
The story aswell adds to the unique feel of the game (well, the story has many elements from Toward the Terra). But what I wouldhave liked about the story is a more light-hearted path instead of the usual mecha drama.
But hey, where else can you find a more colorful cast of characters, and for the ladies, also some Shounen-ai fan-service(not really, but it's Implied).
Now the thing I highly would like (could be possible), is for Lili to be playable in DUO.

Those made me think of it as a Wii game. Not all Wii games involve motion or pointer control. G-Rev could have done what Nintendo did with Super Smash Bros. Brawl and support all controller configurations.
I feel that Senko no Ronde is really underrated in America. I hope that the poor handling of the first game doesn't mean no company will take a chance on DUO.

DUO is four buttons on the Taito type X^2 board.
But hey, with the sudden increase of Shmups, who knows, Aksys may actually go though with it... since we're not of trusting of Ubi
