Belisarius. Thanks for letting us know.
Can you confirm that its completely region locked to USA, or is it partially locked?
For example, a region code of 0xFF000000 (I think) Is NTSC only. But 0xFF00FF00 is NTSC and NTSC-J (so it will work in America and Japan), this would be good for me (Jap console). 0x00FF0000 is PAL and 0xFFFFFFFF would have been fully region free. There are some variations within this for Asian countries (under Japan) I think.
I've seen a reasonable number of games that only lock out PAL.

If its possible to find out this more detailed info, that'd be great. Otherwise I'll have to take your word on this and pass =(

Thanks for that Belisarius.
If that is indeed true, then it will be the first game I've heard of that does that (I'd be willing to bet money it'll be the only one).
I'll pass on a pre-order and check on release to see what the region code is. Hope someone still has the special edition after launch =\

Asia is NTSC-J as well, so what you're saying is that it's NTSC-UC and NTSC-J only, no PAL?

That's good news, at least for me, as I have a Japanese 360. I'm not sure where to preorder this from though, Amazon and Gamestop either charge obscenely overpriced shipping to non-US areas, or they won't even ship internationally. Is there anywhere taking preorders for this apart from Amazon and Gamestop?

Oh, I didn't know Japanese 360s could play games from Asia. Wish I would have known sooner.

There are three major regions. PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J. However whilst rare, I think it is possible to block certain countries within these regions (assuming the consoles do in fact have slightly different firmware).
I've definitely seen the region code 0x0000FD00 which apparently blocks China, so its possible that Japan is blocked as Belisarius suggested.

I'm not 100% certain on this so if you've got any information more concrete than my own please let me know.

Those first two sites don't sound or appear to be very reputable... and Play-Asia's listing doesn't give the ability to preorder, it's just a listing of the item itself.

Been using FV and CDU for almost two years. Well, you don't have to take my word for it ;)
They ship faster than PA, at least.

Where are they located? I live in NZ, and Play-Asia's stuff has generally taken 5 working days up until around late last year, where a couple of items I purchased had some issues. I've been avoiding them ever since, but there's not exactly a huge array of sites that ship US goods internationally.

Sucks how it's not gonna be region free.It seems the Pal region gets screwed again.In this day and age it's completely pointless to region lock any game.Sony have the right idea.

I guess Aksys doesn't want to piss of Ghostlight, who hold the PAL rights for the game. Their version is quite bad though and they don't support the game properly.

Btw: afiak. it's possible to region-lock games on PS3. However, most game do have one.

Hey Belisarius when they say asian consoles can you ask them if that includes japanese 360s? Once you can confirm this im preordering the LE edition ^^ since i have a jp 360

Ghostlight didn't release a 360 version.

If it works on "asian 360s" (which are NTSC-J, the same as Japanese 360s), then it will work on Japanese 360s.

Please just test and find out.
