Aksys, when's your next SHMUP?

No, seriously. Shikigami III was spot-on and delicious fun, but we need more now. I really wish you guys had handled Ultimate Shooting Collection because the idiots at UFO interactive have been delaying it for over 4 months, with NO EXPLANATION. They have consistently ignored all of my emails, even those from Spencer @ siliconera.

There are of course a multitude of XBOX360 SHMUPs coming out soon but there's also a new Milestone Wii shooter called Illvelo which was released November 13 2008. Ketsui Death Label is also a fantastic new STG for the DS but it was mentioned here previously. Those are my immediate suggestions. At the very least I'd just like to hear from Aksys that they aren't shutting the door on future shooting games.

Thanks for From the Abyss, too. Fun while it lasted.

bringing over death smiles would be the single most awesome thing aksys could possibly do.

well maybe they could top that if they worked with cave to release some sort of cave game compilation.

How about that there Castle of Shikigami III on the 360. Seriously, why is it exclusive to the Wii outside Japan? You've shown that you can release 360 games, so why not?...

We tried really, really hard to get CoS3 to the U.S. for the 360 (especially since it was superior to the Wii version), but we just couldn't get past the red tape. We also tried for a LIVE version, but it unfortunately met the same fate. =\

How about Ketsui DS then, Heavenscent?

off-topic: The fact that Nintendo allows anything on their consoles is such a double-edged sword, but that doesn't take away the fact that they have more FUN games than the PS3...

What happened exactly? I had a chance to play this game up at http://www.planet-zero.com in Houston, TX, and was actually quite fun. To bad I don't have a Wii I've spotted 1 copy at a Fry's over off of I-45 and League City, TX. I think it's the only one I've spotted around the South Houston area. I always place it out in front of the Castlevania game they hide it behind. ;) If I had the money for a Wii I would pick it up, but I wish someone would start bringing over the Xbox 360 shmups Japan has or will be getting in the future.

Hey. I have an interesting idea. How about we try getting some of ZUN's titles like PCB and stuff on XBLA? That would be very good exposure for the independent developer community, and not to mention he makes great shmups.

I would personally appreciate seeing some more shooters on Wii. Castle of Shikigami was splendidly done, and I really think it would be an excellent opportunity to add some shooters to a console that could really use some.
