Hmmm... Perhaps it would be about time to start telling people on other forums about asking here for Melty Blood?

there was a topic like this a while back and the only titled I really wanted to get a stateside release was Yakuza 3...and thanks to Sega I got my wish.
...that said, I love to see a US release of Initial D: Extreme Stage.
You know what? I'm backing Melty Blood as well. It would still be nice to see Tears to Tiara though.
I would love if Melty Blood made it over here also. lol
I'd like to know if Aksys looked into Growlanser 1 for the PSP...
It's probably an unanswerable question, I know. But it seems pretty clear Atlus U.S.A. is not picking it up...
I just wonder if any company approached Atlus Japan about localizing it and chose not to because they wanted too much money for the rights or for some other reason...
Also wonder if any of the Inazuma Eleven games would have a chance in hell to succeed in the States...
Darius Burst is Taito decides not to localize it?

I'm in favour of Melty Blood (took a look and it seems awesome).
Another one I'd like, even though it's region free, is EspGaluda II Black Label. If it's announced for a North American release, that'd be awesome. Also, Aksys can put their magical touch on it for a Limited Edition.

There is actually a very strong possibility of this happening. Cave announced Espgaluda II will be the last game for a long time that will be region free. With that said there is a strong possibility another company has taken over publishing for other regions, which is most likely Aksys. However dont be expecting a announcement on anything for a long time because not only is that how Aksys decides to run things, but that is what most companies do too.
I forgot. Who owns the rights to the melty blood franchise? We should bug them too on top of posting here about bringing MBAA to the states.
Melty Blood Actress Again Final Tuned, on the PS3.
Or the closest thing to that sentence that can actually happen.
Melty Blood Actress Again
Be it for w/e console it is. Now that it's getting a lot of attention after being announced for EVO2K10, I think it would be a great idea. Period.
You would mean Melty Blood Actress Again: Current Code for the update, slamtastic. Anyway TYPE-MOON/Ecolesoft probably wouldn't bring the game to the US (especially via Arksys, probably their biggest competitor for this style of fighters??)
But if somehow, someway, it works out the American side with copyrights and international boundaries and things can be sold that way, I feel I could trust Arksys with a net-play capable MBAACC port (ps3!). Atleast they wouldn't choose the worst voice actors.
It would be nice, huh?

I wouldn't normally has so much support a visual novel getting released stateside but this is an exception.
also dream club http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-a120-71-bn-15-dream+club-84-p-18-2.html or idolm@ster http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-a120-71-f5-15-idolmaster-84-p-18-2.html are obvious choices.
MBAA http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-a120-71-bn-15-melty+blood-84-p-18-2.html and Otomedius G http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-a120-71-bn-15-otomedius-84-p-18-2.html are also good choices
+ any cave games
Chaos;Head Noah is an expansion on the PC original, Chaos;Head. It isn't a sequel, it just have more routes (which add even more plot holes...). I've also played through Noah and I can say for certain that it isn't getting localized.
I've also played through iM@S (a bit too much, 1000/1000'd twice) and it most definitely won't be localized, due to the ages of the characters and that everyone would want English text with everything else remaining in Japanese. Namco Bandai rejected Tales of Vesperia being released for PS3, so it's really unlikely. It would be nice and I would definitely buy it, but it just isn't happening.
I believe the producer of iM@S considered an English release at one stage, but the age of the characters was an issue.
Dream Club won't get localized, because hostess clubs are not known outside of Japan. In the US demo of Yakuza 3, the hostess club is absent, so there is a possibility that this will be cut content. Though, Dream Club has more of a chance than iM@S, because D3 Publisher have localized Oneechanbara for 360, along with a few other Oneechanbara games in Europe via 505GameStreet. Since all of the characters are above 20, it's possible, but really unlikely.
Cave games are much more likely ince little text need to be changed in order for an English release to be made.

It's too bad about IM@S because after thinking about it, it has a huge potential to be marketable in the U.S. In YouTube and various sites where fans gather there are actually quite a few young fans, some that seem to know quite a bit about the games (the songs, characters and their dance moves, at least). The only way they can be successful in marketing this series is to give it absolute top-notch productions, but in one of two ways: while remaining absolutely faithful to it (adding things like dubs, etc. of course) or completely neutering it (say like Pop n' Music or any other game that was altered greatly but lost the appeal when it was adapted overseas), but at least keeping the appeal for that young audience. Both ways can turn out great if they execute it perfectly. I've played IM@S on the PSP and DS and I enjoy the games, but they can rearrange it a bit, imo.
There are three systems that the series has crossed over to and that only leaves open for more games to appear on those systems in the future.
It's something they have to plan out very carefully, but they can do it, they have the time. Will they, though? I'll remain optimistic. Im@s has appeared in the U.S. in one shape or form in a couple ways. I really wish Namdai would ask me for ideas 'cause I have a lot of them! Projects, promotions, the whole shebang.
As for Dream Club, the issue really lies with the publisher. They did release Oneechanbara (great game, btw), but they mostly have been releasing Ben 10 and, well, have a look:
http://www.d3publisher.us/
That's what keeps them in good shape, I guess. What makes me doubtful is that D3 in Japan has A LOT of games, but hardly any have shown up in the States. Understandably on some 'cause honestly most of them are -your mother is a classy lady-, but they have a few notable games in their repertoire.
Then again, D3 Publisher USA is releasing God Eater, a Namco Bandai game:
http://www.siliconera.com/2010/02/17/god-eater-takes-a-bite-out-of-north-america/
As for the Yakuza 3 demo, well, it is a demo. I think the demo for Yakuza 2 had the hostess part. We'll see soon enough.

I don't think there could be a PS3 release this side of the pond unless there existed an actual PS3 release in Japan. The best bet would be to ask and ask the people of Aksys incessantly so they would give Melty Blood on the PS2 consideration.
Regarding English voice acting... I dunno, I'd prefer to keep the Japanese voices with an optional English track... Part of what has always made the game so fun are the particular voices of the characters... That, and I don't know many actresses who could do such a crazy voice for Neco Arc... Maybe Jennifer Hale?
It is a good game, and seeing videos on youtube proved to me I wasn't the only weirdo who likes the series. I have Act Cadenza and Actress Again, but I'm more than willing to buy an English release, and I know some others who would. I just can't get them to make an account in here! ARGH!
Could it be too much to ask Belisarius about his views about this game and the possibility of a release in the West?
Hmmm... True... true... But I think Kari Wahlgren would fit Kohaku better... Wendee Lee as Hisui, maybe?
Tara Strong as Sion!

Actually you are incorrect on Chaos;Head. Chaos;Head Noah and Chaos;Head are the same game however the XBOX 360 version of the game has new routes for the heroines of the game as well as new CG graphics. The XBOX 360 version also made the game a higher resolution for all images used.
Again It would be cool to see IDOLM@STER in the U.S., but there is no Otaku and Idol scene unlike Japan. I am not saying its not possible, but it would be a bad move. Plus Bandai Namco has the rights to it.
Dream Club would make more sense but again there is just too small of an audience for it. The only reason why I said Chaos;Head Noah and the prequel Steins;Gate is because those are games sort of like Agarest where it has a visual novel appeal/approach and has a very appealing story that could migrate to a Western Audience. Plus 5pb published it so technically Aksys could publish it if they asked for the rights to publish it for the United States.
Oh and whoever said Otomoedius Gorgeous on the previous page will be pleased to know it has been licensed by KONAMI for an American release.
You know what? I've always wished Fate Stay/Night (the original visual novel) would be released officially in the US so I could buy it. But I guess that's the wrong territory for Aksys.
