Ummm... to play a PSN game, you have to download it to your hard drive.

He's asking if there will be a disc release of the game at a later date if it sells well enough. Frankly, it won't happen.

I think the OP's question is-- in case of high sales (or I guess really low sales and player objections. Statistically that seems far more likely), would SCEA realize they were idiots and allow a hard copy? ...To which I'd have to assume no. Only cases I can think of both versions existing were hard copy to PSN and not the other direction. The situation just sucks and we know that, buy Aksys has done the limits of what is possible.
I don't suppose there's some gimmick in the 'Copy' files and game data on some things within the Sony OS that would allow an account or device ID-locked copy be moved to a flash drive for this? An 8GB stick is pretty cheap.
Doubt PSN ever intended software downloads to ever be this big and there's a reason their HD movie rental downloads haven't been popular. We can only pray they'll learn a lesson that even for niche games it wouldn't kill them to cough up a run of blurays. Check back in 5 years when the average person has 50-100mbps broadband and we'll scoff at 8GB.
