All right, Aksys, I tried to write this post yesterday, but stupid Internet Explorer screwed me over. Why does no school on the planet, regardless of level, have decent computers? I miss the Internet not existing. (Damn, I'm getting old.) But anyway...
Things were looking really, really good for a while. I'll just list my mistakes and roadblocks chronologically. (Don't worry, though, it's not ALL bad.)
So, almost immediately upon entry, I saw a girl cosplaying Bridget. I would have and should have got a picture, but every time I turned my back--POOF!--gone. Couldn't find her later. Next and final, there was a guy dressed as Noel. And he was surprisingly nondisturbing. Pretty funny and well-pulled-off if you ask me. But I didn't get a good chance to get a picture of him, either. The person I DID take a picture with was a Little Sister from BioShock 2. That was totally awesome. Not even my severe lack of assertiveness could stop me from asking that girl for a picture. Although, unfortunately, my dummy-head brain didn't think to ask her for a phone number or e-mail address. Grr, I'm an idiot. But, anyway, the guy dressed as Noel was playing in the same BlazBlue tourney I was. I kicked tons of ass, lemme tell ya! Even though I was on the Failbox 360, I managed to pull off my crazy awesome Jin moves and whooped another really good Jin player. She wasn't used to Eck$bawk$, either. When I lost, a couple rounds from the quarterfinals (about halfway through), it was JUST BARELY, to a wicked Arakune punk. :P I did get a little video from the tournament, though the quality isn't stellar due to the crowd and the terrible TVs they used. I almost wish it was illegal to play anything but NES on non-HD TVs. I mean, those things are SUCH dinosaurs at this point. I know the up-to-date widescreen business is still WAY overpriced, but come on. During the BlazBlue tourney, I did get to advertise BlazBlue: Continuum Shift for you. I told a guy, for instance, about your announcement a day or two prior about the summer 2010 release. Later on the first day, I did get a funny Aksys-related picture after an amazing improv panel. By the way, apparently I'm really good, because these guys, local celebrities of sorts that I got a few of in the picture, complimented me after the show. YEEEEEEEEEEAH!!! So I'm funny! ^_^
Now, on the second day, I came unbelievably close to a completely epic Family series win. Towards the end of the day, after I got those great pictures with the cute girl in the Little Sister costume (don't worry, she wasn't as young as the subject matter, and I just mean "cute" in its literal context :P), and after the second session of epic improv comedy... WHYYYY DIDN'T I RUN INTO THE LITTLE SISTER GIRL LATER THAT DAY!!?? WAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!... *ahem* Sorry. As you may have guessed, I need more female friends. (JUST friends! >:{ ) But anyway... one of the TVs used the previous day for BlazBlue was available. And I should have gotten it, and they had every reason to let me use it. However...
*NOTE: I have to censor bypass a little bit down here. Tust me, this girl deserves to be called the B-word.*
When I started setting up my Wii, this absolutely NASTY Asian girl (who was also somewhat fat and must have lacked self-esteem given her disgustingly bully-like attitude) sneeringly bitched me out. Well, the bi,tch-out didn't happen JUST yet. She basically, very rudely, asked if I asked anybody, told me who to ask, etc., but had a terrible attitude about it the whole time. And she suggested I don't leave my Wii there in the mean time, since she was a bi.tch and wouldn't give a -your mother is a classy lady- if someone stole it. She literally said she wouldn't stop someone from just taking my Wii!!! >:( So I picked up the heavy-ass bag with my Wii and such in it and I dashed about finding the people I needed to find. I found the head of the whole convention, who was also a girl, but not a bi.tch. She seemed pretty nice. But I got the run-around from HER, too. She told me to ask this other guy who was in charge of the video games. So I asked this guy, and he was totally lame. He miiight not have been a jerk, but he should have let me set up the game. I even said that I was doing this for Aksys Games, so you can consider yourselves insulted too, my friends. And as I was asking why I couldn't set up, that stupid ho once again interjected and acted like I was somehow at fault for demanding a fair explaination. I honestly should have punched her in the face. He said that it was too late to set up or some -your mother is a classy lady- like that. It turned out to be totally untrue. I sat down and played Rock Band 2 because somebody didn't want to keep playing on the Guitar, and I was pissed off, so I figure, "What the hell," and go for it. And I was playing for like A F***ING HOUR and they still hadn't even begun packing up. -your mother is a classy lady- them all! The owner of the convention even came up at some point and sang a song on Rock Band while I played the guitar still. *sigh* Afterwards, I tried prodding her to accept a challenge in the game, giving me an excuse to set up. She would have, because she was all right, but she was busy and had to go. She came back again as they were packing up, and I tried challenging her and everyone there. At this point I was being a little naggy, but in a polite and friendly way. But nobody went for it. I think the owner was still busy. Fine. I was disappointed, and knew they should have let me set up my Wii, and keenly aware that the head video game dude may have been being a dick, but I let it slide. I was ready to just head on home totally disappointed. But then as I'm making a last ditch effort at having a US Championship match in one of these games (and I sure am the US Champion ;P), the stupid ho rudely tells me to leave, literally saying, "GTFO," so I walk out, laughing it off out loud. And she mocks me. I really should have punched her face in at that point and ran. Instead I took the high road like a pussy and said, "Excuse me, are you making fun of me?" And she said, "Yes." And I said, "That is just rude." She made an apology that I'm sure was fake. A half-ass, obvious-lie, "Well, I'm sorry." -your mother is a classy lady- her up the ass with a stick. >:(
So I walked around, looked at the stuff at closing time, taking it all in, then walked back with the intent to talk to the head about her employee's terrible attitude. She saw me again, asked her friend why I was still there, and then I walked upstairs, following the con admin's voice. I sat right next to her, but decided not to mention anything, because she was busy talking. I figured I'd leave her be and not risk ruining things for her with angry energy. I just made sure to leave my image in her mind to possibly send an e-mail or angrily post on their forum later. Let me know how to get these folks good, Aksys. Whatever you like, I'll do it. HEHEHEHEHEEE!! >:3 But I really hope the horrible bi.tch was intimidated when I came back. Knowing her type, she probably was. Good. Let her fear me. If I see her again, it'll be great. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!
So I basically have a funny Aksys-related picture that puts your name out there in a humorous but attractive way, a couple relevant videos of BlazBlue gameplay, and the advertising I did off-camera. I hope you guys aren't disappointed. I really did try my best. :(
Gawd, I love her so frickin' much. X3
