   I am very disappointed that this game does not offer the option of listening to the original voices, as I was really looking forward to this game. The dub is acceptable I guess but personally I have to have the Japanese voices as an option for me to buy a game.

   Enough complaining, on to the real question:
   Is it possible to import the voice files from the original game into this one? As in, Japanese voices with English text? I remember that this was possible in AION, with some simple modification.

   I got a question for those of you griping about not having the Japanese voicing. Are any of you fluent enough in Japanese to even understand the Japanese voicing if it had been present? And if the answer to that question is "no" then why are you upset?

   I can understand it spoken mostly, just not written. But that's not even the point, we just prefer listening to the original voices...

   The dub is not really all that bad, actually I'm very impressed by the girl that voiced Sophie, that's the first non-Japanese voice actress that can do loli well in my opinion. There is also the limited space on the game itself and statistics show that here in the west we don't like to read subtitles(which is surprisingly the opposite of Japan).

   However, since there are many 'hardcore' JRPG fans that want the original language, I don't see why they just don't release an un-dubbed version on the PSN. Wait and see if they do before you start hacking away at the game... after all there is no space limitation on download content.

   To answer TC's question, yes, it's theoretically possible. It's the same concept as an undub. However, the issue lies with legality. Though a court precedent hasn't been set for such a situation, many games have a message in the box or manual saying that unauthorized modification of the software is illegal.

   If you have the Japanese and English versions of the game, then it's a simple matter of moving the Japanese voice files over to the English disc. I won't go into any more detail, because of legal issues. Maybe you have good intentions, but other people might not, and Aksys is the last company that deserves to have their games pirated.
