That makes me laugh. These two games were actually ones I was pushing preorders on. I talked a guy into getting both of them, however, I'm now the only one in my store with Deathsmiles still reserved. I need to buy Agarest War one of these days. Not like it's selling at this point. We're not allowed to have it out on the floor because of the pacakaging.

my gamestop here in Austin Texas is pretty cool the people here like and support srpgs and allthough record of agarest was not even mentioned ,in the pre orders and new releases ,they all said the game was awsome and were really helpful, but i have seen some gamestops where the employees knew about as much about games as say my mother and i question how they got there job. lol

I find the staff at my local Gamestop to be really nice and helpful and this is going to be possiably a shock reading some of these other posts and also the fact that I live in Utah! but my store had Agarest War Deluxe edition sitting out in plain view for all to see I will concead that it was behind the counter but it was easy to see and find!

well it was not sitting out in plain veiw, but was not hard to find, still cant understand what the big deal is theres nothing explicit in the game other then some cleavage on the box ,they really made a big deal out of nothing. lol

lol glad I stopped shopping at GS. Actually it was the same for me at a eb games, tried to buy Agarest at one of the shops when it first came out and when I asked for it the staff gave me a quizical look, made me wait for a while until no one was in line and said that the game looks so offensive to them that they just boxed them all up and left them in storage. They never even took them out because they were afraid of it's "highly graphic looking art offending other customers". It's so bs because there's tons of games that look like they "offend people" and yet they do nothing about it.When it's something from japan, they just start hating on it. I got pissed and left to buy it at a gamebuzz.

You guys need to actually ASK some of the employees there on why the main box is put away.
The GameStop near my house have great staff and PROUDLY displayed Record of Agarest War at the back part of their counter top for all to see. However when I came back a week later, it was gone and I asked if they sold out already but they said no.
Apparently parents, mothers particularly, complained about the box art sexual innuendos. Then one of the managers went to the storage room, got the game out and pointed out the pictures that got mothers mad
The pictures that got them upset were of course the front panel, the girl eating the banana on the right panal and the bottom panel.
When I asked if it was just one mother, they said no, it was a handful of complaints which they eventually decided to just put the box in storage and simply display the DVD Case instead on the wall.

Settle down Dragon Saber... Everybody knows that the Asian culture has some weird fetishes, but this game is too weird. There are websites that will sell this game to customers in the U.S. Just look at some of the places listed in NewType...
As for the GameStop thing. I have a friend who is a manager at GameStop and he has the Collector's Edition of Agarest wars behind the counter because it is (1.) it is a collector's edition, (2.) there is some sexual innuendos, so he cannot have sitting arround for anybody to grab. He told me that he had some stuck-up prissy broad complain about it and he just laughed at her and asked her about the DoA Volleyball games or the thousands of games that you can dismember your enemies. People are so worried about the dirty marketing that they forget about the graphic violence and bloodshed in the games that get advertised on television. The average kid who sees the picture of the chic with the banana or the sausage (I know, its actually ham...) would look at it and think nothing bad about it...
