at any rate i'd gladly pay the 45$ and maybe more if it was on a disc, knowing that there will be a case which i open the game from does that much of a factor to me
Record of Agarest War is overpriced for PS3 - some math

Well, it's mainly the lack of an ability to resell. When I digitally download something, I lose the right to sell it away if I don't like it, and I don't have as much control over it (limited re-downloads, can't loan out to friends, etc.). So there are a lot of downsides to DD, and that's why I don't dabble in it often. Mainly I use PSN to DL free stuff and PS1 games. And this simply isn't true. Make a seperate PSN Account for it and you're free to resell it whenever you want. You can also just give your friends the account infos and they can download it, make use of the 5 activations a PSN account allows. You could also share the cost with your friends, 5 friends, a 50$ PSN card, 5 people playing the game for 10$ each.
@limited re-downloads: Nonsense. You can download PSN stuff as often as you want. PSN doesn't limit the number of downloads, only the number of consoles the account can be active at the same time.

I have said this before. If are a PS3 user and like Agarest just get the European edition. This will prove point to Aksys; one not to screw around with ps3 users and two support those that understand PS3 users (Ghostlight). That's what I did and I even got the collectors edition.

Ghostlight also never released any DLC for that one either. Not to mention you'll be playing the vanilla version and not the "enhanced" port that only appeared on the 360.

Also, not everyone gets to buy off the PSN tax free. Depends on the state, for me I have to pay tax which adds 6.25% I wouldn't have to pay on a retail release (I live 10 miles from a sales tax free state). So with tax I'd be paying about the same price 360 owners will be paying for the game once the regular edition releases (not the NLE).Is saving $2.81 in tax really worth driving 20 miles round trip to you? Sure, the gas may not cost a full $2.81 but the time it takes you to do that would be how long? Time equals money and I'd rather bite the bullet and pay the 6.25% tax on a $44.99 product than waste my time...

Though if you're going to nit-pick costs don't forget to add the 77 cents of electricity to leave the PS3 on for a day to download ;)

I can see how everyone must be pissed, I mean PS3 users were originally supposed to get this game way back in like November correct ? Then they find out they gotta wait like 7 months to play it just because 360 users felt left out..boo hoo, lol. And then it finally releases and the 360 gets a sexy limited edition and PS3 gets a PSN download, and on top of it the game takes 5 hours to download and install.. at least mine did. All of these are good points, but I see no point in being pissed at Aksys for it, whats done is done. The only problem I have with the game is when they took the extra like what 7 months ? I thought they were using said time to localize the game, meaning english voice overs. I have nothing against the Japanese language but I am not Bilingual in any way, and sometimes i just wanna sit back and listen to the characters interact without having to focus on the little text under their avatars. Anyways not meaning to complain but yea great Game Aksys, hope ya license Zero cause i'll buy it

Between programming and testing it would take awhile for a small company like Aksys to make a vast game like Agarest ready to go. I mean, with a hundred hours of gameplay it would take awhile just to look at all the dialogue.

There were some improvements over the Japanese PS3 version in Ghostlight's version. They had battle backgrounds (the Japanese version had a generic brown room for every battle) and the CGs were the uncensored 360 ones (though the new 360 CGs weren't added).
The Aksys PS3 version contains everything the Japanese 360 version did.

Keep all the 360 goodies and the game
Buy the PS3 version again
Well, I would do that
Collecting is fun>.> $20 Trade-In? New releases, especially a $60 priced game generally is at $25 for trade in before adding in the edge card and such. Something smells fishy here.

Hey If they bring these SRPGs to the 360 I will shell out the $60 to get them, I paid $60 for FF13 and thought I got robbed with that worthless none FF title besides the graphics I personally thought the game sucked but thats only an opinion ,I am used to having FF games that at least have a town to explore not a save point with a shop attached ,really guys you have to agree they could have made FF13 a really good game but Square/Enix got really lazy on this one, so as long as they bring the SRPGs back to the 360 I will shell out the bucks lol

Reality trumps any attempts to play to logic or price semantics in this case, which isn't cool That Agarest didn't hit the PSN top 20 downloads list even immediately after release has me a little more surprised/worried.
Major problem-- no preview video/trailer. This is inexcusable. For that matter, any sort of promotional anything was always regarding the LE on the 360 with little text anywhere than another version existed. As such, some 100% unknown game sporting the highest price and download space required for a PS3 title to-date on the network(along with underwhelming-looking free DLC) it's like the game fell into a black hole upon release.
I don't at all care about the sales count, but for Aksys' sake I really really really hope the game can manage to break even on the PSN release or we'll have less PS3 titles in general in the future with people writing sales presentations using this as an example of risk for years. Aksys deserves far better than this and I'm kind of concerned about Agarest becoming a flagship example for how the vast majority of players can't stomach a combination of huge size and high price for any downloaded game. It's extremely similar fears that caused the death of the PSP Go from day 1, and why the huge majority of mobile downloads are of the low-cost and most-always-terrible quality game variety...
Even if Sony for some reason actually pays attention to PSN sales of full retail games and keeps market records and actually takes more into consideration in the future when it comes up printing some software discs it would certainly be a "too little, too late" salvation here.

Well, a lot of PSN user are sharing this game making it less then 10$ per person. With a niche title like this I don't think it will hit the top download.
