   Well firstly, do they have to be dead (as if, use capture skill when they have no hp left), break state or just weak hp to catch 'em?

   And also, i imagine this is like most of the games where you catch poke-- err i mean monsters, you can lvl them up and etc? Do they have any restrictions like, cant use items or something like that?

   They have to be at 1 or 5% health, I can't remember which at the moment, but really, really low health and not dead. You can't capture once they're dead even if you use it on the same turn. You can level them up, but they can only use monster weapons.

   Can I not elicit even a sarcastic quip?

   One of the most useful tools you can get or craft is the skill "Merciful Strike". It's one of the black "Extra" skills. You can use it on an injured monster and no matter what, it will not drop there hit points below 1. Thus, they are easy to capture.

   Oh thats good to know, but i imagine this skill can only be obtained later in the game

   I'm on the Third Generation. Any info on where I can get this Skill? Or what needs to be done to obtain it? I've so far only captured two beasts, both from the First Generation, and I want to start combining some to get some unique monsters.

   Well, one of the ways to get Merciful Strike is to gain it from a title. It's title 127. The requirements? Combine 5 monsters... kind of a catch 22 right? The other way is to research it at the adventurer's guild. For that you need to buy the Essential Arts IV book for 75TP. That's why I loves me the TP and horde that stuff as much as possible!

   You should have it by that point in the game.
