I would say, only if Agarest did well. So force your friends to buy the game!
I have alot of friends who purchased it, but if i had to compare it to other games it didnt do so well, Maybe with a different marketing plan itll do better. No offensive to Aksys, i thought it was hysterical the way they used the dating sims element to their advantage however the second a majority of casual US gamers saw it they instantly assumed it was a anime porno game and instantly turned the other cheek
I agree with the wrong kind of marketing. Sure it'll attract anime lovers but casual gamers and epic RPG lovers had misunderstood the game. Agarest has so much potential as a hardcore SRPG. They should've talked about the battle system, Soul Breeding system, and Monster Guild thing more because those were some of the major features of the game. In fact, the main point of the game IS their unique Soul Breeding system. No other RPG that I know of has done that. If they're gonna do Agarest Zero then I'm hoping they'll broaden their target audience.

What, the marketing campaign wasn't broad enough for you?
Marketing wise it work !!
All the news on the internet, video games forums and my friends talk about this game so
it worked ? (It was because of the trailers and collectors)
But i dunno if Agarest sold well
Agarest War 360 alone sold almost 100k copies in English, according to VGChartz. That's pretty good for a niche RPG--one of Aksys's best-selling titles, below heavy-hitters such as "Hooked! Real Motion Fishing".

If it can beat games like Guilty Gear, I'd say the series is worth pursuing from Aksys's standpoint. Also, I'm quite certain that the sexual marketing is WHY the game sold as well as it did.
It was also a solid JRPG as well. Better in my opinion than Cross Edge and Trinity Universe given those games were made after RoAW released. Honestly I can't even bring myself to like Neptune either since that feels far more like Trinity Universe 2.0.
If Aksys were not to release to RoAW:Zero but opted instead to do RoAW:2, I would have no arguments with that. Its not the first time NA has missed a game in a series before and I personally think Zero isn't necessary (though I'll still buy it) if we're getting 2.
I can openly say that I FINALLY picked up Agarest Wars... Haven't played it yet, but I have it now. It's a shame that the PS3 version is ONLY available through PSN. I really don't like that. Are the DLC's worth downloading? What will they do for it?

Make yer play-through a lot less painful if going for the 100%
Heh, so it lowers the difficulty then? Is that what you're saying?

No, just some of the item packs are a life savor at times on the highest diff setting. As seeing you have it for the PS3, don't forget the extra dungeon dlc. 360 users got it on disc but iirc ps3 users need to download it. Won't cost ya anything tho
I have the 360 version... I just wonder WHY they HAD to make the PS3 version PSN only... THAT'S all I was saying. And the EXTRA dungeon is ALREADY in the 360 version? Why the heck would the PSN version NOT have it on there in the first place? I mean, it's a free download but still... why have it for one automatically for one and not the other? That's stupid. =P
No harm done. So, what's so special about this one? Is it a prequel or something? Zero I mean. Although knowing the Japanese, its probably a sequel they just called Zero because of the Project number or something. I think I do remember seeing something about a possible Agarest Wars 2... perhaps Zero is the alleged sequel.
Agarest Zero is actually a prequel which has been out for a month or so now, just never a stateside release (would like to see it as well along with everyone else askin), and AW2 is actually slatted for an October 21st release overseas. Play Asia AW2 link
If ya have a PS3 and don't mind moonrunes in yer game then I'd say hit it up
I unfortunately don't know Japanese. It probably wouldn't help me much sadly. ~_~ The price is WAY too expensive for my blood too... god $80? And my PS3 isn't region-free either. Or is it that the system isn't but the games are? I get so confused with that. =P In either case, I don't think it would be good for me to buy a prequel if there's any hope it might be coming here to begin with. Besides Aksys has to hurry to license CS II. They might not even have the time or resources to think about Aragest Wars especially if the sales aren't doing well over here. THAT'S what they're looking at... with only two options available to them, and neither of them are selling THAT well, I think we would be lucky to hopefully just to get AW 2 sometime next year if at all.
I would love to get Record of Agarest War Zero, so I'm hoping Aksys (or any other company) pick it up.

Haven't heard any announcement from Aksys T_T.
We might... hear something after they are finished with Blazing Souls Accelerate. Honestly, have they announced a thing slated for release after that game?
