See the FAQ thread (Where questions like this belong) for my full analysis, but the long and short is yes. As long as either the Gamertag or console has a license for the content it will work regardless of the region of game or console.

I'm not sure. I got excited when this was released and downloaded both, but they are the same size (87 MB). It doesn't matter as the system update is free, unless you're worried about a bandwidth cap set by your isp.

Change in rank? Sorry, I don't understand. I know 1.01 allows you to play against Makoto online and adds her portrait to character select (below Ragna).

87 MB to be able to fight a squirrel hooker online which I cannot do anyway? F that. I will not be downloading it.

Wow, so it makes the DLC COMPLETELY an unlock code. FABULOUS. >:(

Yeah, you get a free patch for Makoto, but SURPRISE!! You gotta pay to actually use it! Otherwise it just sits there wasting space. Immoral business practice. It ain't like DLC announcers which are simply one whole paid download.

I think got it, System update contains Makoto and Makoto DLC is unlocking the character load previously in System 1.01.
So basically, we can just load Makoto. Anyway my conclusion of this and Makoto rock xD.
