He didn't do proper research and set himself up for dissapointment by going on his assumptions and expectations alone.
Now he wishes to blame someone for his dissapointment, like many people tend to do.
Since it's easier to shove the blame on someone or something else than to face reality, the reality that his dissapointment was his fault.

If there's ever a patch for her to be in it I'd put the money down, but as it stands I won't be paying for it.
wow how is it a rip off? the game is at $40 and lets say u include the 3 bonus DLC chars that adds up to like $64 and yea a little tax that adds up to $66-68 but hey chill out dude. I was indeed mad at first when I bought Makoto but time passed I played with her (in the game) >.> and well I forgot my anger towards the pricing of makoto. However the extra VA for the game was BS i have to say lol, I bought Jin kisaragi's VA $6 was a lot, $2 or $3 would be good but aghhh w/e. Anything is better than the default VA.
well keep it cool people and I hope to see the other two DLC chars soon or at least a footage of the chara in action :P PEACE!.

Eh... I'm actually put off by the rather large price of Makoto, but I wasn't lied to.
Here's a small fragment of what is written on the back of the case:
"In addition, Tsubaki, Mu-12 and Hazama join the roster of characters along with veterans of the first game."
Nowhere is Makoto or any other character not in the initial game mentioned.
The only thing I really don't like about the game is how sadistically hard Score Mode is. I can't unlock Nu-13. But that's just because I'm relatively new to the series. Belisarius did say that Score Mode was hard, though.
But still, I really don't agree with the large price for the DLC characters, and think that had we been told beforehand, there wouldn't be any complaints.

This wasn't a huge minus for me, but I do think it would please a number of players if she was added to arcade mode in a future patch. No ending with new art and voice assets needed, just go straight to game over screen after beating Unlimited Hazama.AllenR said:

Personally, I'd love to see her have some sort of story in Arcade Mode. Considering she already has special dialogue for certain characters (Tager, Noel, and especially Tsubaki, for starters), and that those same characters have special dialogue for her, it'd work, I'd think.

In reality, I don't give a damn what forum posters think. I simply wanted to bring to the attention of Aksys (to at least a community manager)the situation, to make them aware of my dissatisfaction.

If you think makoto a rip off then its a rip off none of us can change your opinion i dont know why people are trying so hard to change your opinion
I honestly dont think makoto a rip off it was worth every penny but it seems you are most upset about makoto not having an arcade mode or story.
Well for story mode it would be impossible for makoto to have her own story because they would have to make her own story and mean while make it tie in with true end. Well Makoto doesn't really have that big of a role in story mode esspically with not every character and i guess they wanted to keep makoto the way she was and not make her have this big role.
And for arcade why would you wanna vs a bunch of com. you can do that in vs the only reason i do arcade is for the art work you only get like one or two pics so its not really worth it.
Well to summarize all of this i think you should have done your research better before buying makoto you should have saw how she played and what she came with you cant blame Aksy for this it was your fault...

I wouldn't be against it either, sure. I'm just proposing the low budget solution that doesn't require new artwork or dragging Hazama and Makoto's VAs back into a recording studio. It gives people the gameplay if nothing else.JasonPaul said:

I’ve never seen any mention of “6 more characters”, only two (at first, arcade version), then 3 (with the addition of Mu).
Makoto is like a bonus. You can pay for her or don’t. I did, I like her, though I’m not likely going to main her. If you don’t, you still have the new game, three new chars, etc. I don’t see any ripoff, nor anyone trying to steal money from you.
Separating players who have bought the DLC from those who don’t would have been the ripoff, as it would have divided the player base and “forced” players into buying Makoto. If you thought she’d have Story mode and Arcade and still bought her, I’m sorry for ya, but you should have checked first before spending your 8$.
I’ve seen far worse DLC, for even higher price, and am looking forward to any new character!
I think the price tag is fairer than SFIV’s costumes who were indeed, (I recall Capcom even confirming it) on the disc.
As for why chars like this are included in patches, it’s because it allows players to, you know, play against those who bought her. It’s not a ripoff… no matter how you twist your logic.

I too am a huge fan of aksys. SO much so that I bought Continuum shift new. (I usually buy stuff used as i get the used price and a additional 25 percent off.) Now the problem i have is not simply OMGZ I GOT TO PAY MORE MONEZ! No my problem is the idea of DLC. Before DLC started one was given a full game there was no way to add to it thus you were stuck with the product bugs and all. With DLC now the gaming industry can patch problems and make things better. One good example would Bayonetta for the PS3. This is good. Other things that are kinda miss or hit with me are the costumes and color palettes. This is more like a way to make for companies. This cuts dangerously close to me. as I want to say that why was this not added to begin with. but i let this one go as it merely just gloss to the game.
With DLC characters though i do seem to draw a line. My way of thinking would be if I were a big company i would just withhold characters and added to dlc later. I.E. if by any chance arc system works said "hey let us wait to release makoto to make more money off DLC. This is what troubles me. I bought Dragon age origins at launch and was surprise by the DLC given to me but they already had more dlc that i did not receive with initial purchase. why is this? Could they not have just have put it together with the game. It is obvious that the content was done.
Obviously there is no way for one of us non industry people to know for sure. For those who say that you don't have to buy it i strongly disagree with the premise of the statement. A character in a fighting game is a huge freaking deal. Continuum shift got only 3 new characters. (lambda doesn't really count.) Obviously a lot of other changes happened as well.(character balances and a continuing storyline). Let me make this very clear. I do not regret my purchase. I loved the characters in this game, i love the somewhat cheesy story, and sometimes the overcomplexity of it. Yet it is okay to voice one's concern, so please do not belittle one's concern(s). Sometimes people are jerks, but jerks can have good points. One would be wise to remember that the game business is here for the consumer but it is still a business[i].

Usually I would agree, but in this instance, the finished game was submitted by its deadline, and Makoto wasn't finished at the time. Whether or not they could've busted butt and got it in or not is something I don't know about, but I do appreciate that the game came out for $20 cheaper than new games usually do, leaving you with the option on whether or not to spend that extra money to finish making your game complete or not.
I must have missed the part where CS was an incomplete game!
I personally prefer to have the game now at 40$, and have optional new characters at some point, than having to wait and pay 60$ for a few more characters. Now I can enjoy the full game without having to wait, and decide whether or not to sheel a few extra bucks for makoto (and any other upcoming char).
Not like maps in shooters, where you simply cannot enter some games without paying the mpas...
Well not only do you get a new character, new animations, etc. You get all the colors and her unlimited form. But it is your right to voice your "frustration". At the same time, let me voice my praise, nice job Arc System/Aksys, can't wait for Valkenhayn!
I also hope they implement the DLC characters into Arcade and Legion modes.
Why so pissed?
DLC characters > DLC costumes. Compare prices, quality and bang for your bucks. Anyhow, dont want the character, dont download and continue learning how to fight against her. Thats kinda whats left, it aint as bad as if ArcSys DIDNT give you Hazama - Tsubaki and Mu-12 due to cut content. Hell. you can even unlock MU-12 and the unlimited characters if you bust your ass on score attack.
Now imagine if they added a spoof GGXX char as secret content or DLC --- TIME PARADOX !
